I used to work with Ros. She is very good indeed, and cares deeply about the Borough. She will make an excellent Mayor.

Hope she proves me wrong! But given your comments, I am more optimistic sir!
Go on then....."We've got Jones, JONES!"

I thought maybe he`s a bit busy, but then I see him on the news unveiling a plaque to commemorate a former poet lauriette, he`s got time to do that, but has n`t got time to address issues that really concern people. I see even though he does n`t like football he got in on the act on Monday night at the KM. Good riddance to the man, all he cared about was himself and his freebies at the racecourse!

Hopefully she'll do something to help this town keep young people here. I'm moving away shortly, I just can't get the work I want here really. Just like the majority of people my age, there's nothing for us here. This town does very little to keep people with any sort of higher education. She wants to create apprenticeships but if something was done to keep people with degrees etc in the area that would help those who need apprenticeships as business grows.
This West Coast Mainline upgrade is a sorry statement of intent too.....Doncaster, Hull & the Tyne-Tees area will continue to suffer should Birmingham, Leeds, Sheffield and Manchester all benefit from this.

September was last official word on it, but I have heard on the grapevine it could be nearer November/ December, my lad has just started work on the pit site on security and they`ve told him their contract is for a year

That isn't doing a lot to address the imbalances in this country. What the proposed high speed line from Birmingham to the North West and Sheffield/Leeds achieve, who knows? We won't be seeing that for a longtime yet anyway.
Was it Davies decision to let the Rovers run the KM? Not living in Donny I'm not up to speed on local politics

He also gave the town the third lowest council tax in the country. I suspect that will change now.

I suspect that will change now.Yes....at the expense of services, wage cuts for the lower paid workers, and redundancies of many in social care and closure of social education centres.Frankly, if an extra 1% on the council tax would have kept a few hundred DMBC staff in employment and therefore maintained a decent standard of service Id prefer that.
