Surprised at Gary Woods and Jordan Ball, rest is about right I'd say.  Hopefully all of them accept new deals.

Very harsh that Ball is going. Looked quite a bright player

Disappointed about Jordan Ball. New manager doesn't even get to look at a promising youngster. Could be the next Baxendale.

Sully must surely have some coaching input but as Dutch said elsewhere I don't know where that leaves Butler.

Im most surprised by Ball thought this was the idea of flynn in director of football to bring the youth players through? not release them

I'm sure someone said recently that Lee Butler has moved in to a more general coaching role

Perhaps Ball wanted to move on?

Here's what Flynn said earlier in the season.

“You really need to see a player in that environment to assess them properly. I like Jordan in training. I like his attitude. He’s got ability and his power and strength are a great asset.

“When I get the chance to assess him he might get his chance. That could be this season but it’s more likely to be next season."

Surprised about Ball thought they might give him a chance in the development squad but as for Woods maybe they rate Maxted and see him as a better prospect than Woods.

It's the right thing to do but good luck to him where ever he goes, it can't be forgotten that he was in goal for most of last season and his medal was well deserved

I heard we actually offered Woods a new deal but he couldn't keep hold of the pen long enough to sign it.

Perhaps Woods wanted first team football and we couldn't offer that to him?

Surprised but somewhat pleased that Gary Woods is going, it means we will definitely prioritise signing a new goalkeeper this summer and that's a key decision. Right decision to drop Martin Woods and Fowler too. Want to thank Martin for his contribution though, he's been here 6 years and was looking like a really good player for a while before injuries took their toll.

However I will not thank him for that penalty that ended up in the Tyne at Newcastle in 2009.

As for Ball, bit disappointed he's been released but we all said this when Fairhurst was sacked off but it proved to be the right call.

Woods looked OK behind the best defense in the division last season. In the championship he look like he couldn't save a falling balloon. Not going to beat about the bush like some above - glad he won't be our keeper next year. First bit if good news of the summer.

for me he was the most improved player from the season before, however still not quite good enough for what we require in the championship, good move really, good luck in your next job.

Don't forget we released Keegan last year at the end of his contract and resigned him as a free agent - there may be a possible case of that with G.Woods, Mullen and Ball!

There's also a chance that one or two of the remaining players will get better offers too. Quinn, Spurr and Brown being the examples that spring most to mind!

The reason Harper is not on that list is because we didn't sign him until 17th August which means he is still contracted to us until 2 weeks into next season.

It does not matter who comes in in goal there is a lot on here that will keep having a side swipe at who ever goes in goal

Penny for the thoughts of the Leeds fans next season when, 6/7 years after releasing him for being too old, Neil Sullivan is once again in the opposing squad!
