Pint?
« on May 22, 2013, 04:35:53 pm by Lipsy »
Gentlemen,

I am in Doncaster for the night (funeral to go to in Askern - my home town - in the morning) - where's decent for ales in town. I'm dossing on a shite-hole hotel for the night in the centre.

Just asking - it's been a long time since I've been in Donny. Oh, and wtf have they done to the Frenchgate Centre? (it was the Arndale Centre, back in my day).

Still, I have managed to get from Bournemouth to Donny in a day, so that's also a dry run to see if it can be done on a match day.

Thanks in advance.

Bless you, Moses.

I passed the Tut n' Shive, I think... As I said, it's been a long time since I have been here. I just want a half-decent pint (or three) and I'd like to avoid Walkabout.

As above (poss with exception of Tut) plus Masons in the market and Little Plough (next to the Tut)

Whilst strolling about the place and trying to take it all in, I just happen to be outside Masons... I think I will.

I really like the Tut. It is one of my favourite Dad dancing spots to some decent music on a Saturday night, on my rare excursions into town. Though I may take your point on the beer as I am never the soberest when I get in there. Which is probably why I am dancing...

Some decent guest ales in Wetherspoons (Red Lion) in the market, and also the one in Priory walk.

Thanks gents - I am no back dahn south. Really appreciated your suggestions as my head was a bit manked up with the funeral and raking up old family stuff (I'm sure most of us have experienced some of that at some point, unfortunately). However, I did drag myself around to some of the drinking holes mentioned - found them to be really friendly friendly and I had myself a good time.

So thanks, it was just what I needed. Still shocked about the Frenchgate Centre. Jesus - it's been turned into an American shopping mall.
