My son lives in Ipswich and he says that they were really impressed with his contribution last season to the point where they asked the Leicester about his availability. I am a big fan of Wellens. In my view we have lacked someone to consistently make the killer pass since he left. Welcome him back with open arms.

The Free Press today says Richie Wellens is out first target. Wellens and Furman centre mid sounds amazing!
According to the Leicester Mercury, preliminary negotiations have already begun. The main stumbling block will be, I suspect, money. Wellens has just over a year left on his contract so presumably Leicester will want a fee, and he will be on good money there, which is why he left in the first place. As he is now 33, I wonder how long we would get out of him? One season? Two tops?

Actually, re my point about a fee - isn't he a free agent now? He signed a 4 year deal with LCFC in the summer of 2009 didn't he? The end of our first championship season. Did he extend whilst he was there?
