I'm surprised they have signed him, I'm pleased we weren't in for him because IMO he's a poor mans Chris Brown.

Bit harsh that, WR. Crouch is an excellent footballer regardless of height. He's on the wain a little with age but he's been a great player at the top level.

It was a travesty that he didn't get on the pitch at the last World Cup having scored the goals to get us there. He was bang in form at the time.

It wasn't a statement, it was a question aimed at RoversAlias,  ( ie Height did no harm to PC at higher level---Did it ).

No, not really. Peter Crouch has very good ball skills for a man of 6'7". Matt Smith cannot do what Crouch did against Man City last season for instance. With many very tall players it is a misconception that all they can do is head a ball or use their presence (I'm thinking also of players like Andy Carroll and Zlatan Ibrahimovic) when actually there is a lot more to them. However, from what I have seen of Smith all he is good at is using his power and height to bully defenders, usually nicking a goal off the bench. He has a poor goalscoring record for a striker and will struggle (in my own opinion of course) to make the step up to the Championship stick when he is such a one-dimensional player.

Good he was hardly prolific in league 1. He only scored against a few teams fa cup and Leeds think he is worth signing! Enjoy bench mate!
