He's gone back to Man Utd injured. Shame.

Gives us though the chance to have his loan extended then to 're-phase it when he's fit. Meaning he won't reach the maximum amount prior to Christmas either.

PD kept trying to shoehorn him and Theo into the team. This frees up a space to have both Cops and Duffy in the starting 11.

Is it just me who cringes everytime someone refers to him as Kiko?

Bit of a blow, but as you say Gaz, gives others the chance to play.

Amazing how that happened at the very start of an international break where he would spend 2 weeks 'idle' using up his loan period and leaving us short at the end of any extension, especially over the Christmas and New Year games. Who woulda thought that would have happened?!?!

Kiko is his nickname. He's been called it all his life. I think he should change his nickname for us. In fact I'm going to change mine as well. I've been referred to as Gaz all my life but shall now refer to myself as Gar.  Get real that's his name.

Ironic when the player I think could fit in to the system with Brown and Robinson, and score goals, is on loan at Scunny.

If Macheda is fit and we can get him back, then if he misses Reading game and comes back middle of the following week we could have him up to and including the game on Jan1st.

For me yeah he has scored 3 goals with flashes off quality but for me a so called star player he hasn't done a lot and we seemed to play a formation off 443 around him

443? Plus a goalie? We should have won every game. Send him back, or keep him with such a ninja mode that means he goes unnoticed.

Kiko does sound like the name of a an orca or summat. Nevertheless it is his nickname and why anyone should cringe when hearing it escapes me.

The thing i hate is when they are allowed to put the nickname on the back of the shirt HULK? CHICARITO? And even the most famous PELE,if the names too long shorten it down but no nicknames.

I still don't know what to make of him...He was either unfit or lazy and in general play didn't impress me that much but as my Dad said to me...Do you want a striker who bangs them in or one who works hard, tracks back but is never in the right place at the right time...Which you cant argue with so I hope he comes back..Lets hope he enjoyed it here and wants to come back because I suspect Mr Moyes wont be just having us ringing him... :rtid:

Remember though regarding "lazy" comments etc, he's barely played for a few months now.

Nothing wrong with Kiko. Top talent. I knew his mum Kiki. She used to live up our street next door to Hector and Zsazsa.

Ignorance is bliss!
Kiko is not a nickname, but a diminutive of Federico/Fransisco and various other names. If it makes people cringe, maybe Jenny should only ever be referred to as Jennifer,Rob/Bob as Robert and Gazlad as Garyyoungman!

My nickname is obviously Nudga or Nudger (however you want to spell it), but my other nicknames are Captain Cats Piss (because it rhymes with Chris) or Bacon Ears. You can call me any of the above, I really don't mind.

I would also like to give Jenny the nickname of Vinegar Tits please.

Have to say from the stands it looks a totally different game to what actually happens. Kiko (haha live with it) looks a bit clumsy at times yet when I see it back on TV I see he's actually top class and what may have looked like a stumble was actually a deft flick to beat a defender. TBH it amazes me how different some moves look on the big screen compared to from the stands. Maybe I need glasses, or possibly a telescope.

I hope he comes back because his goals have been vital, he's a clinical finisher which we don't have and you can tell he has that touch of quality.

Are ye saying it correctly?
In Italian families both the names Francesco and Federico are often shortened to Chicco, it's normal.  This name is always pronounced as "keyko"though.   Macheda has probably been called this since he was a bairn - his parents and all his mates in Italy have used this name for him since.  It's probably only since he came to Manchester that some wag has changed it to kicko.
Good luck!

Of course someone may simply have mis heard or thought it was KiKo, as short form is in fact Fico.
