They are hoops, definitely but I'm having problems with the younger son at the mo.  You see, he refers to the Rovers' kit as "red & white STRIPES". 

Of course, I beg to differ with him.  Stripes???

Yeah....but our hoops don't encircle.  They only half-encircle.  Half-hoops is a better description but I think this could lead to piss-taking from the smart-arse.  Sadly, I think more beating is the only solution.  Shame really, it means I've been a hypocrite for 19 years preaching not solving arguments with violence.
