Totally agree - it seems to be like a goal head start for the opposition with their rousing nationalistic anthems compared to "god save a very rich pampered old lady and sod the rest of us" to a dreary old tune! 'Land of hope and glory' for me, even if there's not much hope or glory at the moment!

Great atmosphere at Wembley makes a change as well - usually too many of the prawn sarnie brigade to be arsed to sing - good for the poles! Just hope we can get through it and qualify!

We've deserved the lead imo. They've had a couple of breaks, we've steadily pushed them back. Can't see Walcott getting back in the team if Townsend continues this form.

As far as the Cole/Baines debate, if Cole is on the field I don't think Rooney would have gooten a cross of that quality from him. Cole may be the better defender (not my opinion btw) but in a game like this Baines doesn't need to do that much defending, it's all about what he can offer going forward.

I'd expect another in the second half just to seal it

Strictly speaking "we" (as in the UN) agreed in 1947 that in establishing a Jewish homeland, Jerusalem would remain under the control of an international mandate and not by what would become the state of Israel. It was actually under the control of the Arab community (specifically Jordan) until 1967.

Strictly speaking? Why is Israel now considered a european country as its in the middle of Arab lands? The poor Jews refinanced us after the 2nd world war and chose their new homeland, Palestine, as its new homeland.It is not the promised land as described in the Torah, it has no mountains and fresh water and is nothing like the compared promised land of the Torah.
Still why would we use Jerusalem as our National Anthem?
