Get a Grip!
« on October 25, 2013, 10:04:20 pm by swintonrover »
Yes, we were s*** tonight, but talk about knee jerk reactions!
"Dickov shouldn't have been appointed"
"Stealing a wage"
"Were going to get relegated"
Get a f***ing grip, we aren't going to win every game 5-0 with performances like Spain/Bayern/Barca, we're Doncaster Rovers, a smallish team competing in the second tier of English football.
The 'Quinn abuse thread' there's is frankly pathetic, he's a human being. And for those attacking the board, without this board, you wouldn't have this football club.

Anyway, rant over, onwards and upwards, Brighton a week tomorrow, Richie's back, we'll get 3 points and it'll all be happy on here.

Look on the bright side, you aren't a Wednesday fan  :woot:

C'mon your Reds :rtid:

Big difference tonight, they took their chances and we lacked anything in the final third. Desperately need Macheda back. I thought we controlled much of the game.

Lost 4-0, but still had 56% of the possession, according to the BBC. Really?

Scoreline was harsh. It's obvious many of those posting negative comments haven't even been to a game this season

Not end of the world, Middlesbrough aren't a bad side & should push on. We've been very naive , lumping balls up top what Woodgates just gonna eat up all day long. Didn't control the midfield & Coppingers decision making was dreadfull had a couple of good opertunitys in the first half 2 go 1 on 1 at the defender in the box but took the easy option as he often does.

The most damning statistic was the shots.

Boro 21 shots - 8 on target

Rovers 7 shots - 1 on target

I think that was a Rob Jones header in the first half.  Browns header against the post didn't count as being on target.

You aren't going to win any game with only 1 shot on target even with 56% possession.

Shots on target is a pointless stat.
Which is closer to scoring? Hitting the post or a 30 yard attempt that trickles into the keepers arms.
Coppingers effort was tipped around post, jones should've scored with point blank header, they were inches away from scoring an own goal,  all far greater scoring chances than a 30 yard effort that's on target that the keeper puts his hat on.

I'd argue Goals scored is the most important stat, everything else is worth bugger all in the grand scheme of things.

Attitude is everything  , players have get this week out of there system and show the right attitude on Saturday is going to help them win over the doubters and stop PD from making even more changes .

That was piss poor. Didn't really tick any boxes. They were lively going forward and we were't. Defensively we were shocking.

Wabara summed up the performance tonight. How can that man, from Man city describe himself as a professional? The only player tonight who showed he is worthy of playing at this level was Copps. The rest were unworthy of calling themselves pro footballers.

Sunday morning league standard I'm afraid.

Right lads and lasses. I didn't listen to the game, I didn't see it on a computer feed, I waited and watched Bein sport as if it were live.  I am sorry to say that if we continue to play like that then we are headed straight back to Division One.

If Boro had scored seven tonight it would not have flattered them Where the hell was our defence, we did not have one? What were Furman and Keegan doing on the pitch, they gave the ball away every time?

We had ONE player who earned his money tonight and that was Duffy who flogged himself to death for nothing.  Thankfully I watched the game on my own and not at a pub, I was totally embarrassed to call myself a Rovers supporter.

Its just been a bad week people how can you all just forget about all the good performances weve had. Remember, bournemouth have had some real thrashings this season and they're still doing well. We had some terrible performances last season and still came out on top. Everyone needs to just chill out a bit. And if we get relegated then so be it.i feel much more comfortable in being relegated because we gavent overspent than if we were to sell the club to an overseas investor and risk the future of the club
