Imagine the scenario 60 odd years ago. Peter Doherty resigned as team manager because Rovers board lead by Hubert Bates refused to fund the club further in order to sustain a push to the next level.
Rovers fans of a certain age still talk of that great era and what could have been with more investment.
Imagine the scenario of what looks likely in a few years time from now. Fans will look back on what was a great era, and talk of what could have been with more investment.

I hope it's not a case of history repeating itself,as regards JR resigning from the board when he found he could no longer work with other board members and the firestarter to took over. That was a even bigger disaster.

Good post bentley
Really gutted think we need a decision statement and hopefully take the money and get JR back guiding us
Whatever the outcome if we fall back down the leagues I would always feel safe with JR leading the ship .
I don't know how we will regroup as one because all the supporters are divided , but one thing I don't get a lot of fans maybe the vsc supported bramall because he wouldn't sell , but it looks like he is willing to sell ? Can't wait to buy JR new book ,Ito see WTF is going on ( how long will we wait) .

The earlier comment about buying JRs new book is something I thought about earlier.
Just ask yourself how many club chairmen you can name? My guess is that it won't be that many. Now ask yourself how many have felt the need to write books about themselves?
As much as JR has been a saviour to this club on the past, he's always acted some what like a megalomaniac.
I would much prefer a chairman who is in the background working his b*llocks off for the club in a dignified way while the manager and players are in the limelight.

While I agree to some extent I think he was exactly what we needed, especially in the early years when we needed a strong, charismatic figurehead to get behind.
