At the risk of coming over all Arsene Wenger, I was at the game (against the Monkey Hangers in 1994) but didn't see the incident. However, I understand a Hartlepudlian got upset by some of Deano's "banter" and threw a pie at him!

I vaguely remember this, as i recall, the Hartlepool fans were giving him quite a bit of stick, then we scored. Williams turned round and 'give it the big un' to their fans.
Some geezer ran out of the away end and ran at him, I think he expected Williams to run away but he didn't. He tried ramming the pie in Deano's face but Deano proceeded to give him a bit of a slap, and had to be dragged off him by Warren Hackett.

That's how I remember it. Happy days haha

Tony Roberts in net for Dagenham at play off final at Stoke. He got some pie thrown at him on more than one occasion.

I remember a Referee having a pie thrown at him while going down the tunnel at Belle vue,Think it was in the Cusack/Stead era.Before the pull out tunnels became compulsory.Mind you,that was nothing compared to some of the stuff Cusack and Stead had thrown at them.
