When can we get him back? He must have been there the required 28 days by now?? Good to see he's in goal scoring form, we will need that in the next few games!

Always thought it was a bit odd, given his ability and the way he plays that he would not fit in to our system. An attacking midfielder is what we want, isn't it?

If we play syers we would be only able to play one up front

Not going to happen

I thought when PG took over one upfront was meant to be the way forward. I'm confused.

That lasted until the 80th minute of the Blackpool game.

Syers has a goalscorers instinct. He's scored goals that many a striker would be proud of. His overall contribution as a midfielder?

One up front but still syers not playing
I think that Duffy and coppinger are in front of him in that role
And also macheda and Robinson

Nothing to say we can't have all three of them playing behind Macheda. Robinson's been shite and so has Cotterill and Paynter has seemingly no way into the starting XI for whatever reason.

Nathan Thomas, ex-Sunderland. We had a look at him in a couple more reserve games but he didn't pull up any trees.

Re: Syers- if he doesn't get recalled now when we're in the grip of an injury crisis then I'm guessing that a deal has been done with Scunny and he's off there permanently in January.

Apparently it's something to do with not allowing him to play in the cup game, meaning there's a break in the loan period and he hasn't been there for 28 consecutive days

Oh dear. Not much foresight used there then.

Yes how silly of PD not to know that Wellens would be ill, Furman suspended and Keegan injured all at the same time.

“We would love to bring Dave Syers back but unfortunately we can’t because the way the rules are for loans. There was a break in his loan for the FA Cup, which we did not want him cup-tied which there is a weird ruling that means because of the break it is not seen as a consecutive loan, so we have no call back within 28 days”.

So the next time we can bring him back is when his loan is over at the end of November.

Reading keeper Stuart Taylor lasted two days at Yeovil after signing on loan for them last week so how did they get around the 28 day ruling on that one I wonder?

Probably can't play for Reading for 28 days

Different rules apply for 'keepers who are not subject to 28-day recall.

Must admit, this is the first time I've ever heard of this. We seem to be being penalised for not allowing our player to be Cup-tied.

He went back for personal reasons. The loaning club can send players back, I believe.

So what is the actual date we can have him back? Just seen his goals on TV, he looks sharp and has the match fitness back. How much does he get in the box for the second ball? Brilliant at it.

If they're taking his "month's loan" from when his second spell started then I think we may not get him back till 14th December.
