Not many rovers players, past and present who can strike a ball like this kid!

Albert Broadbent and Glyn Snodin are two who come to mind.

Mulligan sometimes hit a good deadball.

I suppose many would say King Alick, but I don't remember him scoring many from deadballs, can anyone confirm or deny this. I seem to think most of his goals, good as they were came from open play.

Snodin Redfern and Animal are the three hardest strikers of a ball that I have ever seen. Sometime in the early 80s, Glynn struck a free kick that hit an opposition player on the shin. He was carried off.
Redfern once struck a shot from 40 yards than hit Jim Dobbin on the head. Lifted Dobbin's feet clean off the ground and knocked him out.
And Animal walloped some phenomenal shots from 30-odd yards. Even the ball was scared of him and got out of his radius as quick as possible.
Last season, Cotterill was the technically best striker of a ball that I have ever seen. In terms of being able to precisely deliver a ball into a given position at pace. Early in the season, he seemed to be gently placing the ball into the corner of the goal, so precise was the placement. Then you'd see the replay and the ball was moving like lightening. No idea what has happened to him since the turn of the year.

Bit of an overreaction i'd say good game but his dead ball ability isn't as good as Cotterill's for a start. A few wayward corners and a very poor one in the second half. The free kick wasn't that good if the wall stands straight it goes straight into it, their mistake not a good free kick.
Now Duffy's dribbling is what should be praised that's up there with the best i've seen from a Rovers player in a while, last one that stood out was probably Coppinger against Southend in the semi final at home

Glynn Snodin was the best for me, any free kick from 20 yards or so was as good as a penalty.
