At least they have had the decency to do it months in advance instead of ending up with the likes of the Coventry farce last season.

Personally I don't have an issue with it as I am not required to work bank holidays but I can see why it may cause issues for those who do. It isn't exactly uncommon though.

what a joke this is

Why?

We have a game on the Monday so this makes sense, plus there's almost 5 month's notice.  Where's the joke?

Four other Championship games have already been moved to the Friday so I think we're only following common practice.

Credit to the club for announcing it in good time.

Out of all the FL clubs we must be the team who have played the least amount of games on a Saturday. Wigan, Charlton, Boro and Yeovil all moved for one reason or another.

Wigan and Charlton out of our control.

Boro and Yeovil - people moan when we aren't on sky, games move for sky, people moan. Club can't win.

Isn't it traditionally Lancastrian's who have Friday Monday off and we have Monday Tuesday off or am I getting confused. I know in Rugby League the Lancashire teams would usually play Good Friday daytime and the Yorkshire teams wouldn't.

Oh really, Wigan have played two matches at home since mid September.

Where did I say anything about us playing at home?

Didn't think about Coventry. I wasn't complaining just pointing out that we have had a lot of games moved etc.

What a a wasted thread this is. Rovers have given plenty of notice, it makes sense bearing in mind we play on the Tuesday,  the date it has moved to is a Bank Holiday (usuually a d/o for most !)

I much prefer football being on a Friday night anyway, gives you the rest of the weekend to do other things. Hardly a traditional view but that's how I feel! This one is definitely a good move I think, extra day's rest in what will be a busy period.
