Condescending? You reckon that was me being condescending?

Best laugh I've had all weekend.

Actually cocker, I was being serious.

I assume you're taking this in good spirit, but if you genuinely ARE affronted by what you perceive as excessive condescension, you've had a very sheltered life so far.

Me, I ascribe most of my current qualities to having learned to deal with condescension from a string of people who were exasperated by the shite I laid out in front of them. That process is still going on now and I hope and trust that it will continue to do so until I shuffle off.

Affronted? Haha. Takes a bit more than that!

I know full well it's your way of wearing folk down and giving them the impression that you have the upper hand. It comes back to BB's 'statesman' post I think.

Wearing people down? Upper hand?

You've read too many detective novels sparra.

But on the upside, you've just bettered your previous shot and given me an even better laugh.

You don't call Bob 'sparra' or 'spadge' too often. :)

And another thread leaves the original topic behind, allowing it to slip into the distant haze, then moves into the realms of disagreement between posters. In 2014 can we at least try to keep topics on-topic?

I still think he isnt fully over the injury (and remember friendly/reserve team matches are fine for rehab work), or its had an effect on his confidence in the tackle.

Maybe he isn't, though even if he was confined to a wheelchair he would have been more effective as a central midfielder than Martin Woods was on Saturday.

I mentioned today that I expected him to take one of the CM berths and Syers the other with Wellens and Furman dropping out.

I can only assume his injury is still hampering his full fitness

He's played several reserve games and even had a couple of brief appearances, but Dickov won't play him even when the opportunity presents itself- as in the second half v Ipswich or yesterday.

When you consider that a clearly less than fit Brown was fielded, I don't think it is a lack of fitness. I just think Dickov doesn't rate him and realises he dropped a huge bollock when he signed him.

1) Dickov tracked him for 2 years, so knew all too well what he can and cant do long before he came to the Rovers

2) De Val was like a Rolls Royce in pre-season until he picked up his injury.  Silky smooth and linked play like no other player I've seen at the club.  The closest in this country to the way he plays is Gary Medal, I reckon.  Nothing flashy but very effective at keeping the ball moving.

3) In preseason De Val's pass completion rate was 100%.  He just never ever gave the ball away.

He must be incredibly weak then! It wasn't that bad of an injury. If it is the case that he isn't over his injury he must be very fragile

With 14 cards in 37 games he does not know how to tackle never has
