Bit blurred but I remember Stock hitting an absolute peach of a volley from 25 yards out against Plymouth maybe? Flew straight into the top corner.

I think I remember that one. Hit the underside of the bar came down and hit the bar along the floor that holds the net down and bounced back out so fast I wasn't sure if the ref had given it at first.

Yep that was a cracker. I recall it also being one of literally about 3/4 Rovers goals scored at the South Stand end in the first half of that entire season. Well worth the wait!

Loads of goals spring to mind better than Duffy's last night for me - Cotts against Colchester (in Saunders' last game wasn't it?), JET scored a couple of real beauties, Sharp's volley against Boro, Mutch's consolation screamer against the same side the previous year, any one of that legendary Coppinger hat trick in the Play Offs, Wellens long ranger against Coventry, Fortune's equaliser against Ipswich and I could go and on and on. Nevermind the goals against us! Adam Johnson, Jake Forster-Caskey and JET for Blackpool immediately spring to mind and there's been many more too.

That free kick County scored in our last home game last year was a beauty, as were both of Reid's for Forest.

Eeeh lad. Tha's SOOOOooooOoooOoooOOOOOooooo Liberal.

Tha dunt big up opponents' goals. By defintion, they are poxy, mis-hit shit-pots of shots. Deflected, off-side or just simply cannoning off Shaun Thornton's ample arse (like that pre-pubescent's shot for Arsenal in the LC QF in 2006).

Brian Stock v Huddersfield on sky. Great team play before the ball was rifled into the roof of the net. Loved the early days of the SOD era. If were going to talk about actual team goals look no further than Martin Woods's chip at Florest. Fantastic peice of football.

According to wiki it was and scored at swillsboro on his debut for us, currently at Bournemouth

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elliott_Ward

Absolutely belting goal .. I remember seconds before thinking what the f*** is he doing there when suddenly he unleashed that piece of skill (and then I knew !)

Lewis Guy scored a beauty in the legends game ,and gave us a glimpse of what SOD saw in training.
Admittedly it was against Lee Butler , but i don't think any Keeper would have got near it.

Heffs header against Wednesday at home in 2009 was a quality team goal. About 20 passes before the eventual cross and header

In terms of opposition goals the top three are probably Martin Woods for Rotherham, that Notts County free-kick last season, and the first goal Wolves scored against us in the FA Cup.

That Wolves goal is the only opposition goal I've applauded at the Keepmoat.

Quality finishes by Sharp and Hayter in that Wolves game. After that match the season totally disintegrated.

Milijas ... yes forgot that. I too actually applauded that one !

I was hoping for an equaliser too for a reply at Mighty Molineux ... be careful what you wish for .. a drubbing followed of course and I did not applaud any of Wolves goals away (I think my hands were frozen together )

A couple more I'm surprised haven't been mentioned;
- Richie Wellens v Coventry City
- Jordan Mutch v Middlesbrough

I've applauded a few, but I remember that one well. Got to love Wilson's face when the guy got sent off for decking Copps though...he clearly didn't expect it. haha.

I also remember seeing the draw for the next round and ITV reporting it as Wolves vs Stoke...I was sat there thinking "Hang on, we haven't even played the replay yet!".....media in ignoring TLO shocker.

I've just realised that Martin Woods has got 2 nominations for best goal. The one for Rovrum against us, and, that absolute peach at Forest. Two stonkingly good goals whichever way you look at them. What happened?!

Cheers

Of course it's not a 'joke post' I) that was a cracker of a goal and 2) Mark Wilson was a great servant of our club.

May not be the best goal at the Keepmoat, but Heffernan's first against Crewe in the JPT sticks in my mind. Don't know how he managed to do a 'twist-shot' and get the ball right in the bottom corner from the edge of the box. Great technique!

Just found a clip of it on Youtube! At 0:35  :scarf:

I was also a bit bemused with referring to Ben Smith as a shot stopper......and copps' hair!
