The Doncaster rovers loco footplates?
« on February 01, 2014, 10:24:12 am by normal rules »
I know jr has one of these, but does anyone know who has the other one?

I heard that jr once turned down £36k for his.

I would think that JR would know. It might be worth contacting him via the Exiles website.

The other one is in Doncaster museum on Chequer road, or at least it used to be.

£36k for a footplate?

Imagine how much a nameplate must be worth!

Sorry, I was referring to the nameplate being at the museum, not the footplate.

Yes, I bought a small rovers one about 3 yrs ago, it had to be made up and sent out to me as they only keep a few and the rovers one had been bought a few days before apparently! I think it was £30 + £2.50 p & p.  They may have gone up since but should be around that sort of price?

Your lad and others who read this may like the Print I have linked here

Mine is superb and Deebee framed it for me ... and the print is a bargain 19.95. Limited edition and I have Number 2 ... bet bloody JR has number 1 as well !

I've seen that massive one at NYMR in Grosmont too. The little ones are over thirty quid, so I dread to think what the big one is for sale at! Certainly made me proud when I walked into the shop though.

I thought the story went that the original ones had disappeared into the ether? Certainly the original at Belle Vue was said to have been sold in the R*chardson years and the one that was at BV (and I suppose KMS) in recent years was a copy.
