Well, this is fun

Had labrynthitis since the start of the week. Infection of the inner ear. Been stuck in bed with the world spinning round me, and the urge to vomit when I open my eyes. Like being blind drunk for a week.

You've no idea how bad today's performance was unless you experienced it by listening to it on the radio with your eyes closed whilst clinging into the bed to stop yourself falling off.

Sorry to hear that Mr Stubbs. The Mrs had it and it took a while for it to go. On the positive side I was talking to a Doc the other day who managed to shift it in a week or so.

Lots of things seemed to trigger it, especially movement, big crowds and loud noise. Unfortunately at the time you couldn't get Rovers home tickets on the NHS otherwise she'd have been cured on the spot.

I had a mild 'Dose' last week I think it's a viral infection doing the 'rounds'.

I have to say that an ear infection is one of the most painful things I've ever suffered from. Fortunately it didn't affect my balance, but I was in so much pain I didn't feel like going anywhere!

This one's the other way round TRB. No pain at all, just lack if balance varying between mild and total. A really bizarre experience. Feels like something really fundamental has gone kaput in my brain, even though I know it's nowt serious and will clear up eventually. Meantime I'm spinning like a delicate left winger after an Alan Little tackle.

I had a chronic ear infection in my left ear behind my ear drum, the pressure perforated my ear drum and over a period of time a crusty growth formed on my ear drum at the site of the perforation, I ended up having to have my ear drum cut away and behind it cleaned out before a new ear drum was grafted in place using cartilage from above my ear (tinpanoplasty)

One of the two usual unoriginal and unfunny reactions we hard of hearing get....I'm surprised it's taken this long to get it...

My father in law still goes to the docs to get his ears syringed every 6 months.  He hasnt worked for 10 years and finished at the colliery after the miners strike.  And he was an electrician.
