I think if it is the plane that they have found its likely that there was some sort of fire or loss off pressure that caused all on board to die and the plane just flew until it ran out of fuel.
They think they have found some of the remains 1500 miles off the coast of Australia. Wonder what it was doing down there.
It could be a whale before they are able to confirm what it is.
They are going to go on hunger strike because they think the authorities aren't giving them all the info they can, I don't think they think it will help them find the plane. I've seen the shit they eat in china, a hunger strike would be a blessing out there.
If it has been flying on it's own until it ran out of fuel with everyone on board unconscious then the CVR (if they ever find it) won't tell them much as it only records 2 hours data then writes over itself. Obviously in most accidents 2 hours of cockpit voice is more than enough. Not sure if the FDR works in the same way but that might at least tell them something. I really have no idea what's gone on, but I think with the deliberate alterations to the flight plan (if they did actually happen) and the fact it's ended up in such a remote place so far from it's intended destination then pilot suicide, after incapacitating everyone else on board by altering the cabin pressure, looks as likely as anything. Although the fact that no one will confirm what it had in it's cargo bay is a bit worrying. Will certainly make for interesting viewing on Air Crash Investigation in a few years time.
Anyone else think it's a bit strange that with all the advances of technology we've had over recent years these "black box" recorders can only hold 2 hours worth of data and the batteries only last 30 days?

Why do they need batteries anyway? Surely everything could be saved to some sort of hard disk that doesn't required batteries?
The obvious solution for me is cloud storage - surrounded by the bloody things.
Am I the only one that is sick and tired of hearing about this plane in the news. The plane has crashed in the sea. There are no survivors. The chances of finding the black box is a million to one. It's time to move on. If any debris or the black box is found then that is the time to do a news update. Otherwise please find something else to report on. That is all.
