DevilMayCry (Stefan)
« on May 14, 2014, 10:00:08 pm by RobTheRover »
I know a number of you on here have been good enough to give Stefan advice and guidance over the past couple of months,  and have been very supportive of his desire to find some work in the UK. Last week he came to Barnsley and has a job at ASOS in Grimethorpe and seems to be settling in slowly.

However,  I've received a message from his cousin Robert tonight to let me know that Stefan was taken to hospital today with "a fever".   I've managed to track him down to the Acute Medical Unit in Barnsley Hospital but they are unable to tell me too much about his condition. They are struggling with the language barrier a bit,  so as I work now about a mile from the hospital i will visit tomorrow to see if I can help. If anyone has any messages of support or well wishes I'll pass them on.

Poor lad what a welcome to the UK. Yes please wish him a speedy recovery from me too. How about getting him something from the club although I suppose the players will be off on their jollys now to get him a card done?

Very best wishes to him and hope for a speedy recovery.

Did nobody warn him about Barnsley. He's probably in shock.

Oh. Poor lad. Please do give him my best too Rob. P'raps you should tell him to leave the beer alone for a bit? Getting out of Barnsley of course would also help.

He'll be miserable as sin sat in hospital on his Jack Jones a thousand miles away from anyone he knows. So you visiting Rob will be fantastic. Well done you, mate, and good luck and all the very best to Stefan.

Bob

Oh dear, the poor lad,

 Barnsley you say?

And on top of that he's poorly too. Hope he's feeling better soon.

All the best Stefan, entering Barnsley without the necessary innoculations is always going to be dodgy :-)

I've been to see Stefan at lunchtime. He's struggling to get his words out a bit,  and is on IV steroids and has had a Ct scan this morning.  Seems OK in himself though.  I passed on all your good wishes and showed him the messages and it brought a smile.

Get well soon Stefan. Maybe the club could have a whip round and relocate him back across the DMBC border. If he works in grimethorpe can't someone find him a place to live in someone live in scawsby or scawthorpe?
They are not that far away

Not yet mate,  hence the CT scan. The hospital suspect an infection has knocked him sideways,  but they want to be sure. I'm calling back later to see what the result is.

I bet communication is difficult for him, although his written English seems good, maybe he could communicate with the hospital staff by writing down things

He's struggling to communicate in either English or Romanian. He called his mum earlier and he was struggling for Romanian words. The hospital have now moved him off the Acute Medical Ward not a general ward,  so they are happy that the IV antibiotics are working for him. I'm going to pop in to see him again tomorrow.
