Rovers not for sale
« on May 30, 2014, 07:18:03 am by godlike1 »
Can we start some sort of campaign to make people realise that the club is currently in good hands and the fans do not want a boom or bust regime in charge who could easily run as soon as the going gets tough

I have to admit that there are times I have had my doubts over TB and DW but in fairness they have stuck to the word and did what they could to try and keep the club up last season

I have no doubt that they will support Dickov to get straight back up again and given we have decent season ticket sales for this time if the year I think the fans want a summer of stability as well

What do you all think? I'm going to kick it off with

I'm pretty sure it's not up to us if it's for sale or not.

Surely a statement either confirming or denying this "Buy Out" is in order from the "Owners" If its all bollox put it to bed NOW.

I could n't agree more with you, failing to stamp on it now would signal that there's substance in it, we do not need the shit of last summer again

Not sure the club should respond yet. It sets a precedent doesn't it.

So in the future when there are media rumours etc if the club don't come out and deny them do we all assume they are true?  Likewise if something is true but the club don't want it publicised what do they do! Having already set a orecident if they keep schtum we all assume its true and if they deny up they later be proved to be lying.

Difficult situation and whilst I want to know if there is some truth in this, I'm not sure the club should be commentating at this stage.

Damned if they do and damned if they don't!

I think given it's front page of an international paper, they have little choice.

Personally I welcome the news, time for a change of direction. TB's heart is not in it, plus it raises tge clubs profile

The level of investment provided in our last two seasons in the Championship was enough to get us relegated twice.

There is a big difference between TB and DW actively wanting to sell and them considering any offers/approaches that are made to them.  Everything has a price.  My house isn't for sale but if someone knocked on the door and made a big offer then I would consider it very seriously.

I have no insider knowledge but IMHO TB and DW are doing a sterling job and I am quite happy for them to continue as we currently are unless the offer is deemed acceptable and doesn't put us into a boom or bust scenario.

When was the last game he attended? , was he at leicester? When was the last time he wrote notes for the match day programme?

He alluded during the SC takeover attempt that the club would be for sale at the right price.

Folks are cautious after the SC fiasco - and before you try and back that up, please explain to me how a "Belize Hedge Fund" can take the fit and proper persons test?

Apart from the relegation, the club is well run off the field and we need to live within our means, again another reason why folks are cautious.

I actually agree that we shouldn't say we're not for sale, as the right offer may actually come along, but it needs to be in the best interests of the club, long term.

He is a person though SR - so the test could apply.  Whether he should have passed is another issue.

An easy way for the kid to lose all his money,One Direction won't last forever, they are no Take That,i don't see the longevity in them.
The only way he will get any money back is if we get to the Premier league, love to see that happen, but there are a lot of clubs chasing that dream.
When you takeover a football club it's a long term thing, and if he ever wants to change his mind once he's in charge, then he will get stick for running out on his home town.
A Big step,i'm not totally against it,nothing against the kid he's done well, and never forgot where he came from, and i can't see him having anything other than good intentions.
I Do like how the club is being run as spending what it can afford, but if he did takeover i don't think i'd like our club to go stupid getting past it Premier league players, and two or three years down the road,we are in trouble,i'm going to sit on the fence and get splinters.

I would not be surprised if LT doesn't have a clue whats being asked of him financially. Now the shit has hit the fan, don't be surprised if he distances himself from the story. He'll listen to his mother!

You know the forums gone to pot when posters are defending Take That's record as a boy band.

It seems to me 1D have a much greater international reach than Take That managed, I'd say they have the opportunity to become bigger earners.

With LT and the other one now taking an interest in their own music and writing original material, they have a key to extending their music career.

Their music may not be as accomplished, I don't know, I can't say I know a single one of their hits. I'm no fan of Gary Barlows ballads, for me the bar isn't set particularly high.
