Can we start some sort of campaign to make people realise that the club is currently in good hands and the fans do not want a boom or bust regime in charge who could easily run as soon as the going gets tough

I have to admit that there are times I have had my doubts over TB and DW but in fairness they have stuck to the word and did what they could to try and keep the club up last season

I have no doubt that they will support Dickov to get straight back up again and given we have decent season ticket sales for this time if the year I think the fans want a summer of stability as well

What do you all think? I'm going to kick it off with

#drfcnot4sale &
#drfcnot4louistomlinson

Do you own the club?

If not, how can you presume to start campaigns on social media proposing that drfcnot4sale.....whatever that means?
You can't say something is not for sale which you do not own.

Amen Neil.

As I've said before any deal we'll be concluded between the relevant parties, us fans will have NO say in matters, cringeworthy Twitter campaign or not.

Owners come, owners go.

John Ryan took over ownership of our club at the most crucial time in our history, and saved us from oblivion.
He presided over the most successful period in our history.
I don't think he has gone away. I don't think he could ever go away.

I know nothing of the goings-on within the club because I'm just a supporter. A fan.
A fan for the past 46 years and for the rest of my life.

The club is in good hands at the moment and I trust them. If they abuse that trust, it won't change my love for the club because the club is bigger than all of them.

The soul of the club belongs to us, the fans, and nobody can buy or sell that.

But that story is fading fast now Neil isn't it? It's not yet gone for good, but it's definitely on the way there. Two clubs this season have tried it: Hull City and Cardiff City. Neither has succeeded. But owners will keep trying, and, they'll win in the end. So, for me, the buying and selling of clubs does not include the fans. Clubs now are seen as 'world commercial vehicles'. They don';t have room for fans.

Call me naive Bob but I'm just not prepared to give in to that cynical view just yet, and I don't believe you are either.
We're not Man Utd, or Chelsea, or even QPR.

We're still close enough to this club to be able to have a say in its future, not least through the good work done by the VSC and In Rovers We Trust. I really believe the fans still have a voice.

Let's not let go of that mate, however old and curmudgeonly we become!

Do you believe that JR saw us as a "world commercial vehicle" when he bought us?

I was speaking of 'football' and 'football clubs'. Not 'Doncaster Rovers Football Club'.  A more general review of the state of the economics of footy and how that impacts on whether or not such clubs will even have a soul in days to come. I doubt it mesen.

I think sc saw us as that, get in the prem and keep the money 60 million for finishing last, then all the para payments all into the bank so thats 120 million in about 4 or 5 years, less say was it 60/40/20 million as the figures went down with every new article in the media not a bad return.

No.

Actually I think the correct answer is nobody knows due to the paucity of information and their zealous pursuit of anyone who asked any questions

Unless you were/are SC?

I think you'll find the question was:

I don't believe ANYONE sees DRFC as a potential worldwide brand in the mold of Barcelona or Man U, not even JR.

I may just be being sceptical - but could investing in Rovers save LT money?
Football isn't known for making money so could this help his Tax?
If so we are the benefactors if he had the other guys around to run the club.
