Quote from: wing commander on June 18, 2014, 11:28:39 am I knew he wasn't going to stay,he wasn't happy with being used as a bit part playerMaybe he should have performed as more than a f***ing bit part player then. He showed occasional flashes, but overall, he was a big disappointment. Went missing at crucial times. If his response is to jump ship then f*** him, and Birmingham are welcome to him.

Who has read the contracts of all these players?
Bennett will come good now.
Can't let contracted assets go for free. Terrible by the club. That should be a clause for players like Wellens. No value, highe wages.
Quote from: mushRTID on June 18, 2014, 11:27:01 amWhy pay a substantial fee and risk losing for free a year later. We are a joke at times. I though Gavin was smarter than that. Pathetic if true.More than likely he wouldn't have signed without the clause. Catch 22.

I'm going to go against my better judgement and indulge you.In an era where players hold the whip hand in negotiations, how do you suggest that we sign them in the first place if they insist on release clauses?
Duffy and Cotts will take some replacing. Both good league 1 players. Duffy is worth £250k of anyone's money. That's £250k + what we paid for him + what we spent developing him. Money slaughtered.
Imagine the uproar for Chris Brown leaving (on a free)...
