Many people come to UK for money because the wages there is much higher than in their native country.

I stayed only one month there in Barnsley and the first 3 weeks was fantastic. I liked the town, the people, the mentality of the people. The last weeks was very hard, I contacted a viral meningitis at work and I stayed in the hospital. The doctors (from there and from Bucharest) told me to return 1-2 months in Bucharest for recovery and now I'm still at home.

Hope you get better soon. There are many reasons why immigrants come to our country. Roma gypsies mainly come from what I can gather to escape prejudice in their own countries. This is the type of immigration I and many of my countrymen are against. Countries that persecute the Roma should not be allowed into the EU. Now theses countries probably think if they keep up the persecution they'll all leave and we'll pick up the problem.

I have no problem with immigration if the people coming are needed. I do have a problem with an open door policy when anyone in the EU can come just if they feel like it. We are a crowded country and I would say we are pretty much full up.

It also does not do the country that loses its brightest and best young people to countries like ours any favours long term. Eventually they will just be left with an old population that they can't afford to look after.

On the health service front. If we stopped having immigrant doctors and nurses the NHS would collapse in weeks. We have lured doctors and nurses from around the world in massive numbers.

When we expanded the NHS capacity we didn't have enough doctors and nurses. Given the training lead time how else would we bring enough staff in to do the job?

Labour had 13 years to plan. Why didn't they do it? It is dangerous having so many foreigners working in the NHS. My son recently was admitted to A and E and was eventually seen by a doctor. This doctor was foreign and couldn't speak English very well at all. He couldn't understand what my son was telling him about the injury to his leg and my son couldn't understand what the doctor was saying.

This led to the doctor proposing a course of action that was totally inappropriate. Luckily an English doctor got involved and sorted things out. My son heard the foreign doctor getting a bollocking for his misdiagnosis. Luckily this was not a life and death situation but it could have been, especially in A and E.

You also need to think about the impact on the countries where we nick their doctors and nurses. I guarantee you that it means more people in these countries are not getting the healthcare that they need because they don't have as many doctors or nurses because the previous Labour government couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery.

When we've got so much unemployment surely we should be able to train our own nurses and doctors and get the dole queue down.

They are doing a fine job. They are doing their best to turn around the total mismanagement of the previous Labour government but it's going to take many years to put right. I suggest you read the article in the following link to see what is currently happening.

My overall impression from watching the 2 programmes is as follows:

The vast bulk of immigrants are hard working and a gain to our economy. They are much more likely to do the jobs that our scroungers on benefits won't do.

They have depressed wages in certain sectors such as construction.

They have put pressure on public services and housing.

They have ghettoised certain parts of the country.

What to do in the future about the issue? Withdraw from the EU and have a points based immigration system. Make benefits far less attractive and get the scroungers back to work. Train people for the jobs that the economy requires them to do instead of training them for jobs that aren't there anymore.

EU citizen gets taken ill in the UK and receives first class medical care from the National Health Service.

IC1967 promotes leaving the EU - hope you never take ill when on holiday in Spain or France or Italy once (heaven forbid) the UK has left the EU and find you're left to wait while insurance companies fight over whose responsibility you are.
