Full marks to Roy. Brave to play that midfield diamond with the young players. Irrespective of the result, it's the way forward. Let loose the Lions!

Ok. 3 great chances to England. None taken. Wilshere playing base of diamond  but I dont think he understands the position. Goin ok though.

Not convinced by this formation. Delph and Henderson have been anonymous. Sterling is having to come too deep to collect the ball and is being kicked to pieces by their players. England have lost the ball needlessly twice and were cut open on both occasions. A better team would have put us to the sword. England have had chances but cant take them.

Wilshere has to go off at half time.  Completely ineffective.

He hasn't been that bad IMO. He's seen a lot of the ball but what has he got to work with? Delph and Hendo offer nothing - the natural balls are Rooney and Sterling but then they have to come too deep. Baines is making runs but I've never seen a player lose the ball as much as he does.

This Swiss team are there for the taking, our play is too slow and laboured, a decent team would be at least three up by now, thats the difference, decent teams take their chances!

Listen. This on paper is the most difficult game and we could be 2 up at least. The Swiss crowd are quiet. With a bit more nouse and composure we can win this.

That's a great platform for the rest of the qualifiers. Keep improving those little things and we have a good young crop of players who are gaining experience all the time.

I think Wilshire would be better employed as a Dill the dog tribute act.

It was not a good performance - we win and suddenly every thing seems to be forgotten and we are world beaters. We, England, are still a poor side, the first touch of many players, especially Rooney, was poor, to many second touches were tackles. A win and everyone forgets that we were troubled to many times by a even poorer Swiss side

It reminded me much of Rovers. A precious few who could actually control the ball (Copps, Wellens, Forrester) and plenty of pace but no direction or control (Robinson, Tyson). Overall 7/10 vs shite opposition.

England are Rovers and I claim my five quid.

It was a good performance although Switzerland were shit tonight it's still a difficult place to go and there were young lads like Delph and Stones who are new to the international scene and it was a new experience to them. So in general was a good performance and win and will help to slowly build confidence because the players will have been nervous because if they had lost the papers would destroy them tomorrow.

I thought Delph was excellent, and grew into the game after his early yellow card

But he has to learn fast if he wants to have a future at this level...his naivety in the early moments will cost him if he carries on with the same reckless abandon

Gave the ball away too easily for my liking, although he's not the only culprit there.

I think this tournament has worked out quite well for England. They are a work in progress (and at the early stages of that progress). The expansion of the Euros has given them the chance to use the qualifying tournament to give players like Stones and Sterling some valuable international experience. If fewer places were available at the finals then I think we might have a job on to qualify.

Mind you, I don't agree with the expansion. Another of Platini's "brainwaves."

No. We're not papering over the cracks. We're replastering the wall! Need time and games to iron out the imperfections before we apply the finish. Patience  and practice required to get the best results.

The criticism they get is a joke.
Scotland lost last night and they're heroes, we win against a side that hasn't lost at home for 4 years, a side that had a very good World Cup just a few weeks ago and still people say were rubbish.
Its crazy

Can't have gave it away too much considering first half he had 100% pass success rate.
