Why are the assistant referees always on the right hand side as you look from the sidelines.
Why never on the left hand side  ?

It's the referees choice. And most want it that way.

It was only changed recently - 2 to 3 Seasons ago and is now "strange"

Previously the Subs warned up as they do now at KMS Dug out to North Stand and the Linos were not distracted by them as the Subs were behind them ... now though with the Linos swapping sides the Subs are in their line of sight across the pitch

May be why they get stuff wrong but in the case of the West Stand side nutters we get there is no such excuse

Why do they sometimes flag when there's a goal (given) but not always? I dunno if it's regular thing but I've never noticed it before yesterday for our first.

They don't usually need to flag if it hits the net

Yeah I think they just flag if they have a better view than the ref and there's an element of doubt over whether it's a goal - like Tyson's header yesterday.

Its all to do with Football League directive.  Assistants must run right wing line.  Subs have changed wings so the can't interfere with assistants and have to wear different coloured bibs to the playing colours.
