RIP Wally Lamb of Gainsborough
« on October 21, 2014, 02:45:29 pm by retford rover »
It is with sadness, that i have had the news this morning the life long fan Wally Lamb from Gainsborough passed away in Scunthorpe Hospital this morning. I have been bringing Wally to home games for the last  25 years, and he used to attend a fair number of away games, especially in the conference days, courtesy of Jill and Rita Martin. Up to this season he had a season ticket for over 30 years  before his health deteriated. Our thoughts are with his wife Janet and family,  He loved his Rovers, it was difficult to shut him up once you got talking about the club with him, and in his early years, he used to pushbike it from his home in Beckingham to Belle Vue.
RIP Wally. once a Rover always a Rover

Wally Lamb a gentleman who would talk  about  DRFC all day long if allowed.Always had the time to stand and listen to others point of view and give an informed opinion. He was a friend an encourager and better than all he was a lover of our football team. RIP  pal.
