And he's a qualified referee too.
That should take some pressure off our crazy manager arguing with evry fcuking decision that goes against us.

So who gets dropped, McCullough or McCombe? ....or do we play with a back 5?

If we can just persuade Boro to let us have Hubby back for three months, I'd be happy with that.

Id play Butler with McCombe. Possibly then move McCullough to midfield?

Butler with McCullough, unless the opposition has a very tall striker.

Is this really what we want, taken from wikipedia (never knowingly right!!)
He suffered a serious injury in early 2005 before returning to action later in the season. At the end of the season he won four different honours at the club's annual awards.[1]

The 2005–06 season saw Butler suffer a string of injuries. On 14 January 2006 he was injured in a 1–1 draw with Bristol City at Ashton Gate and was ruled out for the rest of the season.[1]

Prior to the start of the 2006–07 season Butler was injured again, dislocating his shoulder in a pre-season friendly with Leeds United. He was out of action until October 2006 when he joined League Two side Grimsby Town on loan, in order to build up his match fitness. He made five appearances for the Mariners. On his return to Scunthorpe he was unable to break back into the first team until later on in the season as the Iron won promotion to the Championship as League One champions
Maybe a bit of a crock :chair:

Anyone feel we need another striker? We've scored the second least goals in the league this season.

Anything after 2007? Could understand your worry if it was the last few years but not 7 years ago!

And then look at his recent league appearance record

Seems like a damn good signing to me, just what we need for a start. An experienced left back next I think.

Grateful as I am for a signing but I wonder why our rivals Sheffield united consider him surplus to requirements?

Did you wonder why they considered Billy Sharp surplus to requirements when we took him on loan from the same club?

Big fall out with Cloughie, I understand.  Over what I don't know/can't remember.

Butler apparently wanted to join in summer, but couldn't get an offer due to the takeover business so meanwhile Sheff Utd came in for him.

Yes, and I came to the conclusion that Kevin Blackwell was an idiot. I'm not convinced Nigel Clough is, though.

Blades fans seem to be asking the same question so you can look at it both ways.

He probably told Clough that the ref was actually right!

Dickov seems to have a good eye especially in the loan market, lets hope this is a continuation of it.

Would be a waste of money. Strikers don't score under our manager. Well, no player does.
