Interesting article by Gary Neville i read the other day.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-united/11289726/Premier-League-academies-must-be-more-than-just-obscene-cosmetic-surgery.html

Thought it was prevelant seen as our Youth Team aren't doing too badly at the moment. (Granted us and Man U are worlds apart!!!)

Isn't it a rule in this country that kids in academies can only play football for "x" amount of time per day? "X" being a lot less than the time allowed in Spain for example.

i think thats true gaz,but personally too much attention is placed on coaching at a young age, football for kids should be like it used to be enjoyment and kids with natural ability should be encouraged to use their natural ability not have it coached out of them.this country has produced talented players but its always suggested they dont do enough work ie tackling back ect, people like le tissier.hoddle, bowles marsh people of that nature did not get the amount of caps they deserved
