Modern Capitalism and the Xmas spirit...
« on December 27, 2014, 01:36:07 pm by BillyStubbsTears »
Saw this quote on the BBC website, about the weather bomb that you folk have had back in Blighty.

Quote
Dr Stan Fowler told the BBC he was one of a "handful" of drivers who had spent the night in their cars at Woodhall Services on the M1.
"I arrived here at 20:30 and have bedded down for the night after parts of the car park became impassable," he said.
"The staff have been excellent and have brought duvets from the nearby hotel and although it wasn't how I would have chosen to spend Boxing Day night, it really hasn't been too bad at all."

How very kind of the hotel at the Woodall services to give stranded drivers a quilt each to cover themselves up while they were sleeping on the floor at the services. I wonder if it dawned on the hotel management to give them a bedroom instead?

Or even for the stranded to book themselves in and actually pay for a bloody room? Why should any other bugger sort out the stupidities of assorted drivers?
