Armthorpe pubs...

Going Elachi's a week on Saturday and thought we'd sample some pubs around there before and after. Can anyone advise ones that are best and ones to avoid?

They've all gone downhill massively. Acorn used to be very popular a few years back but went in other week and there was nobody in. If I was you I'd have one or two in wheatsheaf before then get a taxi to either Eden arms or glasshouse after. Great choice with Elachi by the way, was there last night never fails to disappoint. Best indian in Donny.

Funny the way opinions work. I think it's up there with the worst in Doncaster and I'm a big fan of a curry. Being a Yorkshire man I never though I'd describe something as too buttery but the Naan bread I was presented with was literally swimming in the stuff. Baring in mind how Naans are cooked it had obviously been added afterwards. Bizarre.
Best for me is still Alraj on Carr House Road.

Don't eat the stuff myself, but folk reckon Mumbai in Stainy beats Elachi hands down

We've been to most in and around Donny. Before we moved to Hatfield we always went to Alraj but since then we've always gone to Elachi's which has never failed us. Though we always go Sadiga in Thorne for takeaway.

Quite a few have said the one in Stainy is decent so may suggest going there to the group then taxi to the Glassy!

... Unless anyone else can offer differing info on the pubs in Armthorpe?

Horse and Groom is a nice, quiet boozer just on the way out of Armthorpe. Easy walking distance to Elachi (10 mins). I'd avoid the rest.
