That was probably the most inept managerial display I have ever seen. The starting line up was risky. Needed to resort to plan B all too quickly again.

So how can we change the game. I know let's make like for like subs! Let's take off one of the few players who can make a difference.

What was Furman doing wrong? The only plank on the pitch who should have been off pronto played...well was on the pitch, a full 90 mins.

WTF. Any one of us couldn't have managed that game any worse!

That performance by every one of our team was pathetic, yes the tactics looked wrong but our team today was dreadful.

Time for a reality check lads. The team isn't good enough. That's the top and bottom of it and there's no point pissing and moaning about it.

Finishing mid-table is no disgrace this season, given the shambles of a summer we had

Why change the formation today, players did not seem to know where they should be. The display was reminicent of the games we endured prior to Christmas.

Obviously a lot of players didn't do themselves justice and that contributed hugely to a deserved defeat (against an excellent looking side) but that had to be one of the most bizarre tactical set ups since Danny Bergara's attempted number jumble. So many unnecessary square pegs in round holes.

You can change formation as much as you like but if you haven't got players who can go past a defender especially out wide it dos'nt matter

I was nervous when I saw that line up. You might just get away with 4-3-3 if Keegan is in the side but against a counter attacking side that looked too risky.

I realise to an extent the 4-1-4-1 depends on Coppinger and Forrester to both provide attacking options from the midfield 4. However it worked well and it is puzzling as to why Dickov has abandoned it.

Agreed changed the game at preston and a few others but..........cost us far more games too despite some quality players on the books (thinking back to last season too!) So in my eyes not quite totally inept but very close to somewhat inept!

The back 4 is just too avarage to compete . Our senior players like Wellens are just not having the effect on the play they used to. Our approach play is too predictable . This game was there for the taking but we gave it away . Not one shot on target in the second half is pathetic in front of a crowd coming to see the Rovers consolidate there 6th place .

I don't disagree bpool - but don't agree entirely either! There is no doubting the quality of tamas, meite, sharp, johnstone, neill, wellens, copps, forrester, tyson and several others we have had on our books over the last two seasons. Yeah many have under-performed but this manager wanted em, he has a staff he has also handpicked, and he is paid to get them all to perform cohesively together during his daily work within his weekly build up to games!

 I would hazard a guess that were a Paul Cooke, Mark Robins or even some of the managers we've learned to detest over the years (Cotteril, Evans, Davies or even Phil Orange) sorting out first team affairs  (in either a 'head coach'  or 'manager' capacity) we'd be in a better position!

Not arguing with you, but I think we've picked up 12 points from our last 10 games - and 5 from our last 6? Maybe I'm wrong and if I am someone will correct me.
If I am correct, I think you'll find there are several teams with a better record.

Suppose it depends how you define "form" it's so unpredictable and changeable at this level that I'm not sure you can be as broad as 10 games, especially when you're starting to play Saturday/Tuesday every week

Yeah f**k me we've done well last few games but for christ sake we've got one of the best squads in the league. We should be certain top 6. But Paul Dickov isn't good enough, can anyone tell me what he did at Oldham?? Oh yeah he guided them to a 16th/17th placed finish and oh yeah he got us relegated. Class manager.

why do people on here keep saying we should be top 4/5 with the squad weve got,its not a good enough squad by a long way,made even worse with the loss of copps and keegan.look at the top teams in this league and their squads are bigger and better and I include Barnsley in that.top 10 at best is what we deserve and what we will achieve,no the performance was not good enough but don't lets overrate our team

That's the 1st game I've been to for a very long time due to working over seas. I thought the lineup/formation  was very bold with the 3 forwards up front but what really struck me was the lack of work ethic from the team, it doesn't matter what formation is played if you don't defend from the front & close down in midfield you won't win matches.

I know some teams have a warm down after the match. Some of our players needed a warm up!

For the last 10 mins Main and Robinson must have been freezing with their lack of movement.
