James Coppinger Testimonial Fund
« on March 20, 2015, 09:08:06 am by VSC »
The VSC and Supporters Club have teamed up to buy a giant flag to celebrate James Coppinger's testimonial. We are looking for inspiration for designs, so if you have any ideas of what you would want to see on the flag please post your designs or ideas here. The flag will be at least 20ft x 10ft, and can include any colours, text or images.

If you like the idea of a giant flag for Copps, along with a few other surprises the VSC and Supporters Club are planning, please donate to our Coppinger Testimonial Fund via PAYPAL

You can also donate to Coppinger's testimonial charities via the same link - just click "Add special instructions to the seller" and leave a note

If you haven't bought your tickets yet for the Legends game you can buy them here

I have a few questions:

What is the target for this giant flag?

When you say Testimonial do you actually mean his testimonial match, or the legends the game? Obviously this impacts time scale required to raise the funding.

What happens to the flag after the game, obviously a flag of that size requires space to occupy in the South Stand, be a shame to pay all that money to see it boxed up for the rest of its life.

Thanks in advance.

There is no target; we simply want to raise as much money as possible. The supporters club and trust are prepared to meet any shortfall if required. The flag is to celebrate Copps' testimonial year and show him how much he means to all Rovers supporters, and will be revealed for the first time at the legends match. After that it will be available to use at any Rovers home match, including the testimonial match, and probably stored in the same place as the other flags.

...do you actually mean his testimonial match, or the legends the game?

Are they different things? I'm struggling to keep up with everything Coppinger.

There's the legends game next month, then some point pre-season we will play Middlesbrough (depending on if we're in different leagues, which seems likely) which will be Copps' actual testimonial.

I don't think it has been officially announced Glen,  but I could have sworn I read it on here from an insider.

Want to credit Steve Uttley for the photograph and Greg Sill for the design - looks great on the mug!

We've got permission to sell the mugs in the Belle Vue Bar for the next few home games, which is also where people who have pre-ordered will be able to pick them up.
Could I ask that anyone who wants to buy from the Belle Vue Bar still order in advance via PayPal so we can order more beforehand if we need to. Thanks.

Good idea, I'm glad our club legend is making plenty of money for a worthwhile charity which is close to his heart.

Credit to Steve & Greg (I saw Greg's design on the DRFC Facebook page and thought it was brilliant!).

Can you give me a rough idea of when I'll get my mug, please?

What about ''Coppinger travelled the road from Damascus(Exeter) and found the promised land(Doncaster), and became a legend in his own lifetime''?!

Thanks to everyone who bought a mug yesterday. We've raised over £180 for Bluebell Wood so far, which is fantastic!

We will be in the Belle Vue Bar again prior to the Rochdale game, so if you haven't got one yet make sure to get one on Saturday!

Selling the last remaining mugs in the Belle Vue Bar today, so last chance to pick one up in person for £8.
Any remaining mugs will be for sale online for £10. Remember all profits will be going to Bluebell Wood, so make sure to bring an extra tenner today and pick one up!

We're down to our last 10 "Coppinger #26 Legend" mugs! If you like a brew, and you're in the market for a new Rovers themed mug, your prayers have been answer!  :woot:

They are only £10 inc. shipping (pay via http://goo.gl/iH4Wrw) and all profits go straight to Bluebell Wood.

As soon as we sell these last 10, we'll announce how much you've helped us raise and we'll hopefully be presenting Bluebell Wood with a cheque before the end of the season
