To everyone who gave very generously today for the Black Bank Flag Fund. We'll be counting up on Monday and will update you all with the amount raised then. A special thank you to all those who volunteered today - without you this couldn't have happened.

Definitely. We had ten buckets in total and all of them seemed reasonably heavy and a few notes along the way too. We also distributed over 1000 leaflets to help spread the words for those who may not be on social media and the forums. We had a lot of people coming up and asking us questions and offering support in the future as well. A good day all round and things look very promising for next season!

Certainly should give the Black Bank the best possible chance of getting off on the right foot and growing in to a colourful and noisey spectacle.

Once we turn the home form around it'll be great to see the KM rocking again with the backing of The Bank!

There was originally plans to but there is a collection running for the Ray Dunning Foundation on the same day and we don't want to run against a local charity, potentially taking loose change that otherwise would go to them. You can still donate via our Crowdfunder page and we'll discuss with the club about another potential collection for the Pre-season games.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll check crowd founder. The west stand singers were in good voice yesterday. We're gonna miss 'em and the only reason we're not moving is we prefer the side view.

They're a great bunch of lads and are really keen to make this work. They were fantastic yesterday in talking passionately about what they want to achieve to people who don't use the Internet so haven't seen the starting work.
Was really encouraging when we spoke to people yesterday from the East and West, particularly the older generation who want this to take off, even if they aren't sitting in the BlackBank.

No, the figure raised yesterday was £543.57 (don't quote me on that as it is written down but I don't have it to hand) - the total has had the expected Crowdfunder fees deducted.

What's actually being done with the money bar a flag?

Well it is predominantly a 'Flag Fund' so it will be used to buy flags. The first one is going to be whichever wins the public vote and quotes we have been given for some of the designs so far suggest we have more than enough for that already.

On Saturday we were having discussions with different fans and asking them on what they thought to the fund being used to contribute towards 'tifo' displays on match days, smaller hand held flags to give out, streamers, banners, etc., perhaps even a moisaic (depending how full the South will be next season).

Obviously this is the just the start and we've been overwhelmed with the response, we will continue fundraising into next season to help keep the flag fund topped up and hopefully once people see what their money has paid for then it will only generate more interest.

Agreed and let's remember as well that the vsc backs this initiative and the initial discussions took place a couple of years ago with the idea of a 'matchday atmosphere group.' Fairplay to the people who have driven this to the stage it's at and it shouldn't become an anti-vsc thing! It's a brill initiative that should be commended and hopefully the on-pitch response will get even more people supporting it!
