I've changed my mind
« on April 20, 2015, 06:52:42 pm by IC1967 »
I know it's something you lefties never do despite overwhelming evidence but I have changed my mind on what I want the general election outcome to be. I now want Labour to be the largest party and to form a government with the support of the other hard left parties, the SNP, Plaid Cymru and the Green.

I've digested the SNP manifesto and it would make it impossible for Labour to govern properly. This would be a recipe for disaster.

I've decided to take the medium to long term view. For about 2 years, Labour would do a lot of damage. However they would then be kicked out of office and would be unelectable for a generation. The Tories and UKIP would then become the dominant force in British politics.

So I've decided short term pain will be well worth the long term gain.

Come on you Eds!

Soooo, does that mean that all your posts for the past two years that have predicted an overwhelming Tory victory were wrong? Or do you mean you want Labour to win but they are not going to?

It's called 'arbing' (see other IC thread)
In other words... covering your a*se in case one of your gambles goes wrong.

Which is fine if you are gambling.

However, if you are trying to show that you can assemble facts, form an opinion and make a prediction, then when that prediction looks like being shite, you say you have changed your mind, it makes you like like a right...

Excuse me. I still think the Tories will get an overall majority.

Ahh now I understand, your opening post was just a wind-up then because you know it is not going to happen. Thanks for clarifying.

Look. I've got news for you. What I want to happen and what I think will happen are 2 completely different things. Let me give you an example.

I might want Rovers to gain promotion this year however I don't think it will happen.

Got it, get it, good.

Excuse me. My opening post was not a windup. I don't know what's going to happen. I wouldn't be so presumptuous.

Look, anyone with half a brain can work it out. I'd have thought even you could have. I'll spell it out again.

Using my vast expertise I predict that the Tories will win an overall majority. I have been consistent in this view for a very long time now even though I am a voice in the wilderness. I've put my neck on the chopping block. I've gone against all the perceived 'wisdom'. I am to be commended for my brave stance. All you lefties are just dying to pounce if I get it wrong.

All I've said in this thread is that I now want Labour to form a minority government with assistance from the SNP. I've explained why.

Now if there's still something you don't understand let me know and I'll get back to you. I don't want to let my 100% record of answering all questions  bite the dust.

Now in the mean time get on with that abject apology will you. You'll soon owe me as many as silly Billy.

Already bit the dust as you didn't answer my questions in the Clarkson thread.
I asked you the source of your information as well as other questions.
Not one answer was given.
All you did was throw up journalists opinions.
Those opinions answered nothing.
That thread is passed now.

My record is intact. I don't answer questions if they are silly. I can't remember your alleged questions. I can only assume they were very silly. As for giving up my source there is no way I would do that. There's such a thing as talking to someone in confidence and 'off the record'. You are asking me to impugn my honour. No way will I do that.

I'm just wondering how "compatible" the Lib Dem and Tory manifestos were in 2010.  Oh, hang on, they weren't.  Give Sturgeon a sniff of the barman's apron and she will fall in line.

Other way around more like. Milliband would be putty in her hands.

Re-read them... They were not silly.... Besides, you don't answer ALL questions as you stated.
So which is it... You answer ALL questions or those you won't answer you deem as silly.

I answer ALL questions unless they are silly. This is fact.

Now I am human and prone to the odd mistake. If you feel some of your questions weren't silly and I haven't answered them then please list them below and I'll answer them or deem them to be silly.

Go back and look.
It's not difficult.
I don't intend to restart the Clarkson argument in this different thread.
It's fine if you deem them silly and can't be bothered to answer them, but don't then claim that you answer ALL questions, which is what you did earlier.

You dont know what is going to happen but you have known what is going to happen for a long time now.... should I go and pick up a few quotes from some of your past threads where you have explicitly told told us what is going to happen to quantify it? So that is 4 times I have proved you wrong on this thread, just one apology will cover it.

Your quote
"Now I am human and prone to the odd mistake".

and you are mistaken that your 100% record is intact... it is not until you deal with the ones you have missed.
You have just said you do not answer my questions because you deem them silly and in almost the same breath state you answer ALL questions.
This is a contradiction.
Your failure is in admitting you have contradicted your self.
All means every one of them even if deemed to be silly.

Just to clarify. I have a 100% record for answering all questions thrown at me that aren't silly.

Got it, get it, good.

I don't feel hard done to.
Don't tell me you know my thoughts or feelings and don't patronise me.
And stop changing your stance.
Stick to what you say and believe, you'll feel better.

I'm glad you don't feel hard done to. I wouldn't dream of suggesting I know your thoughts and feelings. I don't know where you get that from.

Look. I'm not patronising you. I have a very pugnacious debating style and I've been very patient with you. There comes a point though where get it, got it, good is the only response.

Look. I haven't changed my stance. I've considered what you have to say and offered to answer any question you may care to ask. I promise to consider your point of view before deciding I was right all along.

Now either list the questions you want answering or get an abject apology sorted pronto for wasting my time.

I wouldn't bother Serring. Really. The t**t is deranged. He's been like this for 2 years. Best thing is to point out his stupidities and then laugh at him. I've got him, and several of his mythical mates (usernames he makes up himself and then posts in support of himself) on ignore. It removes 80% of all the turgid crap on this site :)

Cheers!

Take no notice Serring. I've battered him in every debate I've ever had with him and he doesn't like it. He's also very aggrieved that I'm better looking and more intelligent than he is.

Like I say, list your questions. They'll all get answered (I only wish I could say the same about others on this forum).

Christ! The guy must have congenital dementia. I cannot concieve how anybody could derive pleasure from such vacuous, self contradicting and patronising crap as the rubbish he spouts for 4 YEARS!! Ye Gods. He really does need help doesn't he? Won't get any from me though now. I offered. Nicely. Twice. He's had his chance. He could have made something half way decent of himself too. Hahaha! You're the one that needs help!

This obsession with constantly attacking me (even though allegedly you no longer read my posts) is laughable in the extreme.

Look. Take a leaf out of my book. Refrain from attacking the man and concentrate on contributing effectively to the debate. I'm struggling to to think of one intervention you are responsible for that wasn't just an attack on me or others (whom you seem to think are also me).

I can promise you there is only one IC1967. More than one would be too much of a good thing. Just be grateful that I take the time to be the voice of reason on this forum.

I dread to think how many people you and your leftie friends would have brainwashed if it wasn't for me putting the opposite point of view.

Take some advice. Take a chill pill and get over yourself. You'll feel so much better.

IC you don't seem unintelligent, it makes you more likeable to accept sometimes you're opinion can be wrong, you are not alone there are many in life who find it hard to admit mistakes.
I don't know you're background with others on here, but a fair few of you rub each other up the wrong way, whatever you're political party leanings nobody agrees 100% with even the party they vote for, and who you vote for shouldn't say who you are as a man or woman.
I think all of you who enjoy the political stuff would enjoy it more, if you didn't all get too hung up on your opinion always having to be right, i look at the posts many of you put on and the political stuff is way beyond what i understand, i vote for who i think will do best for my area.
