Underwood, I see he has been a member of this forum for ages, well nearly 2 weeks. Just an observation

You're the third person to make note of how long i've been a member of the forum, as if it is some indication to how long I have supported the club.
Can I ask what is it seasoned posters have against new posters (although long term supporter), as you certainly do not make them welcome.

Underwood there are some on here who think new posters are 's.it stirrers', agendas are worried about, 'Is this one talking on behalf of somebody else' etc, we have had a fair few wind up merchants, and some think it's just another one.
Our fans as a whole are not a friendly bunch, if you haven't got a key link for every year served, or you are not a member of a club then to some, not all, your opinion doesn't matter.
Some clubs rejoice when they get a few more floating supporters, not some of our fans, they are 'Johnny come Lately's' if they haven't been seen in the same spot every week.
The majority of our fans are good, but some our fans are not very welcoming when we need as many extra fans as possible, if you don't know so and so who runs this supporters club, or you don't know the president of the Back scratchers association then your opinion can be null and void.

I will be interested to see who we bring in Steve, but not too fussed about the results in the pre season I assume that's what your saying.
Could not agree more Lincoln . As I said in a Post a few weeks ago, we have sacked one manager since Dave Penney . how many have Barnsley and Sheff Utd sacked in the same Period ? And what league are they in, yes the same as us.

not just pd fault everybody knows were the trouble lays just wont admit it ,the team was never good enough to sustain a challenge too many coming to their career end,copps,wellens.jones.bywater.butler.tyson,macoombe,all had better days,we haven't got the class of young performers coming thro, the board are showing no interest in the football side of the club,at last augusts meet the owners meeting a gentleman asked mr bramhall would he ever live to see prem football at rovers bramhalls response was to laugh,JR wouldn't have laughed he would have said we will certainly be trying, the same response from bramhall regarding Tomlinson being involved in some way was to say not for any foreseeable future.this shows a total lack of ambition, get rid of the dummy acting as a chairman and get someone in that can convince the supporters we are going in the right direction.

Did anyone expect any different tonight? We have nothing to play for they are going for automatic

Are you serious? Did we not draw at home against that same team? Are we not supposed to be so much better away from home?. We had no pressure to deal with yet we get a 3-0 drubbing. Just perfect.

What about the 2 grand a week they're getting paid or whatever it is. Maybe if they stopped their pay for a week they'd think they had something to play for.

The last time we were in this League we finished the season with the best away record in the country. We still drew 0-0 with MK at home and lost 3-0 away.

As for Dickov and the board they have adopted a long term plan to change the outlook of the squad into one much more reliant on young talent combined with some experienced players. We're 8 months into that plan and if the club are serious about it its too soon to judge Dickov.

We should stop judging ourselves against everybody else and our recent success and instead judge ourselves against the situation we are in. Relegation will always make the season after difficult, what Saunders and Flynn achieved was more of an anomaly rather than the norm. Only a handful of teams bounce straight back up at the first time of asking but look at Sheffield United, Barnsley, Yeovil, Portsmouth, Coventry, Peterborough and Scunthorpe in recent seasons.

Obviously we should be expecting to challenge, and for most of this season we were in the running to challenge for a playoff spot. Had we turned 5 of our losses into wins this season we would have been up there. That is literally how close we have been and shows we aren't a million miles away.

We have to trust Dickov has learnt from his mistakes these last two seasons and will put them right next season.

He needs to go or we will be back to crowds of a couple of thousand, I can accept losing when we actually put 100% in and play some decent football but this tripe that dickov has us playing is so boring, theirs normally 5/6 of us that go home away most weeks but next season only 2 of us have renewed our season tickets andtheir reason for not is dickov

We are sat watching him make the same mistakes week in week out, if he showed signs of learning from them then I would be willing to put my trust in him as the right man to take this club forward but he has shown nothing for 2 years so what will another pre season do for him?

We are going backwards. On any objective measure we are in a worse place now than two or even one year ago. Some of the reasons for this are down to Dickov, some are not. Folk need to wake up though and realise that we are not doing ok and working to any plan other than a plan that puts you further back than where you started.

The football this season has been absolutely dreadful for 80% of the time and 100% of the time at home. Absolute rubbish. Pitiful.

The players recruited this season have been ok at best (Butler, Tyson, Stevens, Wabara) but largely hugely disappointing (Main, Razak, JCH).

Outside of a relegation season this has been the worst season to watch Rovers since we were plumbing depths of conference under Wignall. Absolute and total rubbish.

Things have got to change next season. Under Dickov or under someone else.

when the original game against mk was called off we still had a chance of play offs and people was posting then that maybe mk would have nothing to play for thinking auto promotion would be out of question could be easy.but now people are wondering why they played their hearts out and we didn't.the other thing everybody thinks they are managers way they talk, not saying pd is the best man for the job but we all have ideas how we want to play and the team we should pick and that would differ amongst the supporters.

Recruitment this season is going to be fascinating.

Our two best and potentially most influential players in Wellens and Copps are hitting their mid thirties. You can't keep sweating your keep assets at that age. They will have to be managed very carefully to get them through season.

Nobody else is good enough or focused enough to deliver a match winning performance. Dickov will have to buy these players. We no longer have them.

Well. This close season will be a good chance to gauge the board's intentions I reckon. Especially now that they have John Ryan's shares and a clear run so to speak...

I've said before that Dickov's reign reminds me a lot of Wignall's. The latter actually recruited some good players - the nucleus of the 2002-03 side was signed on his watch - but he failed to get the best from them and the result was often turgid football. Allied to a feeling that we were treading water.

The manner of Wignall's eventual departure meant that quite a few people had sympathy for him. Similarly if Dickov were to be fired this close season a lot would feel he hadn't been given a fair crack. But with Dickov as with Wignall, I don't feel we will fulfill our potential while he remains at the helm. I also feel that someone else could tease a lot more out of the same bunch of players.

Maybe Dickov would be more suited to a Glenn Roeder (Sheff Wed) type role. With his obvious connections in the game perhaps him making a sideways move would appease everyone, thus making way for a new head coach.

I still think it's a replacement for BH we need to assist Dickov
By the way some on here think we have God given right to be challenging for promotion and are starting to sound more like wendies and blunts
