so he brings out the list with out signing Bennett and then gives clubs the chance to step in as he would have to go on the list with him being out of contract, then all the fans would be on his back for letting him go

as far as I read it said him as in the club there is a deadline !!!

if i were him i would try to hold on as long as the league allows if sheff united don't make the play off final there has to be a lot of players released since that have a ridiculous amount of players

it does not mean he int talking to other players does it but if he rushes in for the sake of the fans witch in sure he wont then they will have the knives out

That's the latest it could be released, I think. Let's hope they are waiting because they hope to announce that one or two of the players we want to keep have signed new deals.

To me, the date that the retained list is announced is less important than being pro-active in the transfer market. It would be nice if we had a couple of new signings on board before the players report back for pre-season.

You can understand why clubs don't sign players until nearer the start of pre-season. Sign them now and they are paying for them sitting on the beach for a month.

You can sign out of contract players on a pre-contact deal. There are some costs involved but their previous club will still have to pay their wages until their contract expires on 30th June.

The only reason for them being down as released would be that they've been offered and rejected new deals.

Heard a few rumours regarding Furman and Bennett, from sources who have been correct in the past. Apparently Furman has accracted Championship interested and Bennett isn't happy with the money being offered.

Letting Furman go will be a massive mistake! Again Furman has been showing excellent form since he came back from AFCON so why not offer him a contract weeks ago?

We shall see anyway. It's going to be a very interesting pre seaon, as usual then!

Furman and Bennett can do better than us so that doesn't surprise me. This is the problem when a manager turns you from a Championship club to a less than average League One club in the space of 2 seasons.
