Last time I went I stopped at the Temple Bar Hotel! It was pretty cheap and u are right in the centre of the action!! Nice hotel! It wasn't particularly noisy either to say it's right in the centre!

There's lots of very good hotels on O'Connell street. And it's also on the bus route from the airport if you intend to use that.

It is overrated. Although I would think it's going to be an interesting place to be next weekend when the England supporters are in town. I'm looking forward to it!

Dublin is a great city! Full of culture and full of things to do and places to go! It is however like any city very expensive! I have been their twice and until I went to Edinburgh and Rome over the last 2 years it was my favourite city! Plus if u want a lively night out it is absolutely awesome!!

Hells teeth Filo. Most of those are almost in Northern Ireland. Guessing you followed the Shannon. Get thysen south and West . Mayo, Galway, Aran Islands, Cliffs of Moher. Now that's the real Ireland. Ask Donny Dub.
Belmullet, Achill Island, down into Connemara, Inismein, Galway, Cliffs of Moher and Dingle Peninsular. That's real Ireland.

Fished the Shannon system down to Athlone and the Erne system around Enniskillen, and the lakes around Lough Gowna

Get yourself in Lapello's then into Coppers. It's a decent night out, wouldn't want to live there though.

I did some fishing on the River Erne, at Ballyshannon. Not conventional fishing though. There is a Hydro electric station called "Catheleens Falls", built into that is a "Fish way" to enable salmon and such to get upstream /downstream of the plant. There is a holding tank, and , dependent on who was in charge of the plant, many a salmon made its way into my house when I lived there and built Catheleens falls bridge ( 2005 ). Plant can be seen lit up behind bridge .

I was hanging out in the bars catering for the younger ones amongst us. No river dancing in there. Took an Italian Doris from the strip club back to the apartment as well, that's probably why I have fond memories. She will never have been the same again.

Dublin is the finest city in the world. Anyone that can't have a good night out there is severely lacking in charisma and personality.

Take my advice. Get rid of the stiff upper lip and let your hair down for a change. You never know you might enjoy yourself for once.

Must be good, even the Irish don't go.
