I played in Rovers Northern  Intermediates team with Barry and his Dad Ernie was our coach .Yes , Barry captained York City when he left Rovers  Ernie had been a member of our all conquering Rovers in the  1946/47 season ( half back) .

Incidentally another member of that Intermediate team was Ray Veall . He played for Everton when he left Rovers and has JUST THIS YEAR been awarded a cup winners medal by Everton for the few cup games he played for them that year . He is 72 yr old , leaves in New Zealand and from a recent photo looks fit and healthy. I learned this from Ray ( Bradford exile) who has an amazing media network on all matters Rovers .
