Terrible news I knew Brian from my work with Steve Uttley. He was a tremendous gentleman and was a Rover through and through. Condolences to his family.

Terrible news. I still think his response when Kevin Amankwah came on as sub against us was the finest moment by any football commentator ever.

"Nah den. Oo's dis comin on. Kevin Amawan... NA den! Ah cornt se dat! Am gunna gerrin some rate trouble ere!"

Truly terrible news. Heart goes out to the family and friends. Brian's style was unique. He tried to get the whole of the Rovers " family" mentioned before all commentaries, wherever they were in the World.

I do hope the club organise some some of tribute to Brian in recognition of his generous work commentating as a  selfless volunteer match commentator on  Player for several seasons . A commemorative plaque in the Press room would not be out of place .... in fond grateful memory.

Really saddened to hear this news. I'm sure I heard an "Oooooooooooo! Aaaaaaah!" from t'other side - wonder if he had just got to the pearly gates, or was it the molten red ones below... just can't tell  :crying:

Many happy memories of the man, RIP.

Awful news, so very sad to hear of something like this.

I think his family should be directed to this. Nothing can take away the pain they must be feeling but it must offer something to see their loved one spoken of in such high regard.

Perhaps VSC officials  could use their  influence with the club both to commemorate Bradders in some way and to communicate that to the family too.
I once was invited by Bradders , together with my wife , to join him for a while in his commentary point at Belle Vue and have a chat ( as  a member of his  so called Rovers family from abroad ). My wife had brought him a box of Belgian chocolates for his wife BUT , typical of Bradders , he had brought along a box of chocolates for her too. Tha'll allus be in our hearts Brian.
