Liver and beetroot. Yuk!

I love the taste of aniseed but can't stand Pernod.

You Wild Rover and Rob the Rover must have had a total p*** up on Pernod ?

Very astute, Wolfie.  Got absolutely wasted on the stuff in Blackpool when I was 17 on the first night of a lads bank holiday weekender.  Spent the saturday in the hotel room puking up.  Ventured out on the sunday but ended up in a deckchair still out of it.

Happy days, eh?

Yes - most people get hammered on something and never touch it again - and cant even bear to smell it or be near someone drinking it

It does not seem to work with Beer though for some reason. You swear "never again" but gradually you can reacquaint yourself !

I overdid Cider as you did Pernod and it took nearly 10 years till I could bear to be near the stuff !

In my case I NEVER touched a drop of it. Nor any of its family friends. Whisky, Guinness, Rum , Brandy , Pochin, and whichever house I was in bitter ,were my downfalls.

Add Gin to my hates.

I can relate to the cider thing as I got seriously drunk on it in my student days and haven't bothered since. In the case of Pernod though, one taste was enough to put me off for life.

Now it's just beer, red wine and malt whisky for me, but not at the same time!

You need to try Strongbow Dark Fruits Cider, it'll turn you right on to cider again

I can't drink peach schnapps for the same reasons, three f**kin days I was out of it on that stuff. Oh, and mad dog 20/20, I did mix the two though.

I can't abide Bacardi ever since getting bladdered on it in Benidorm in my mid-twenties. It smells like Bostick.

God... There's quite a few.

Above all else them foul school dinner puddings: sago and tapioca. Jesus H! They stank like rancid sick. They looked like rancid sick. And they tasted like rancid sick gone bad. And when the goons dropped blobs of bloody raspberry jam in it... FFS!  Tripe is almost as bad. My Grandma made me tripe and onions once as a special treat when I was sick in bed as a kid. f*** me! It went straight down the loo that did. What a foul stench it was.

Apart from them, I also go many miles to avoid:

CousCous. Humous. Liver. Kidney.  Prawns. Bananas.  Raisins. Celery. Tongue. Butter beans.

Lol. I didn't realise I was such a picky bugger.

Mayonnaise, I tell my kids it is made of babies. I swear there is a conspiracy to get you to eat it. If you a lazy beggar and buy a sandwich for dinner they sneak it every thing. Almost makes me do my own snap rather than buying it.

I dont mind mayonnaise,  but you're dead right. It sneaks in everywhere these days - presumably cos its easier to spread and cheaper than any of the butter substitutes? I used to love egg sandwiches. Sad, I know. But there it is. But you try buying a plain egg sandwich these days. Every single one has been infiltrated by that bloody mayonnaise.

Tell you something else that sneaks everywhere too: rabbit food! Why does every sodding sandwich in this country have to have a bloody piece of soggy lettuce or even soggier cucumber in it????

Lol, you Yorkshire men and mayo.. Bless him, the fella took half an hour today to find a mayo free sarnie. I just had this image of him, standing in front of the snacks chuntering away to me on his earphones. abusing the chicken and mayo sandwiches....

Why they can't add a sachet of mayo for the customer to add at the end would make so much sense.

Sprouts, cabbage, turnip, all alcohol, aniseed, tripe, strawberries (to be fair they make me vomit rather than I dont like them), eggs, jellied eels, marmite and I'm not mad keen on Garlic although like Mayonnaise it seems to be in everything these days as like salt/sugar it's a cheap way to make rubbish food taste edible.

I'll pretty much eat owt, me.

Only one thing I can ever remember drawing the line at.

Did some work with a French company 15 years ago. At the time of the Mad Cow crisis. British beef was banned all over the world. Had a meeting in France - Drench folk had been pissing themselves all the way through the meeting about English food. How we were shit at culinary issues.

Then we went out for dinner. Decent quality restaurant. Menu only in French and I recognised nowt. I stared at the menu for minutes trying to make sense of it. One of the French lads asked if I wanted him to order something for me. Me being proud, I told him I was perfectly competent at French and was just making up my mind what to go for. Eventually, I chose something at random and all the French lads nodded in grudging approval.

Turns out I had ordered a hollowed out pig's trotter, stuffed with pig fat and roasted.

Absolutely f**king disgusting. I had one mouthful and nearly retched. But I'd got my knackers in the game by then so I ate the whole lot.

I'm retching now just thinking about it.

I like most of the things that the rest of you seem to hate.
Olives are lovely. So are sprouts. All seafood is gorgeous esp mussels. I could eat a plate of whelks now, with lots of black pepper and vinegar mmmm...

I'd do all of them apart from sprouts.

Sprouts and cauliflower are the only 2 veg I refuse to tackle

Give me salad cream over mayonnaise any time, cauliflower the leaves off them are gorgeous dipped in some gravy, very rarely get leaves with them now.
You can't eat anything without black pepper it's not civil.

I love olives, offal (especially kidneys flash fried until pink), sprouts, black pudding, aniseed, all seafood, anything spicy, anything not spicy, pretty much anything in fact, I just love food!

But tripe (actually smells of sh*t) and goats cheese (in a Peter Kay accent - cheese? From a goat???... Dirty b*st*rds!) are the snot of satan and make me gag just thinking about them!!

I once had the misfortune to visit the caves where Rocquefort cheese is matured. I promise you, you don't wanna go anywhere near either the cheese or those bloody caves. A stench to rival tripe, tapioca and sago. Truly awful. And I was forced to undergo the whole sodding tour.

In my original graduate profession as a civil engineer, I did work at Wards Brewery in Sheffield, building an extension to the brewery. As part of the work, I had to survey the existing buildings, including the one where they fermented the beer.

Jesus wept, the stench. Fair put me off beer for 48 hours.

But that wasn't the worst. We did a job a Melton Mowbray sewage works. Where the big problem was the fatbergs from the Pork Pie factory. They were floating on top of the stilling ponds. And it was mid-August

You truly do not want to know. It is one of only two occasions when I have puked at work. The other being after I got shit faced at the works Xmas do, got off with the boss's grand-daughter crawled into work the next day and spent the morning retching in the bogs.
