Apparently he's the last of the high earners to leave Barnsley. More of an austerity move not unlike the Greek government.

What about James Bailey he must be on a decent wage (similar to Turnbull) or did we offer him next to nowt.

Are Barnsley in trouble Financially? Getting rid of their high earners, Holgate is leaving for cheap and matchday price increases. I bet they're hoping John Stones gets his big move!

Milan Lalkovic left Barnsley today, he must have been a high earner?

A guy I know was recently talking to their Manager and they don't have a single player left that is on more than £2K per week, first year plan is to consolidate, 2nd year to the championship and to the premiership within 5 years

Good luck with that

Get a tenner on them for relegation

I wouldn't say they're in trouble financially (although they've had their moments) but they have committed to being a self sustaining club now that their owner has been cleared of any legal action against him. I also understand his son is taking a greater role in running the club which hasn't been a popular move. Things are a bit mixed up over there.

I would support that, the 2k figure is what I understand too.
