We need experience in every position with youngsters as back up. If we don't have anyone with experience at RB then PD needs to bring someone in before Saturday as sides will exploit that area of the pitch.

For all we know there may have been attempts to get someone in.
He may not "be leaving it late" at all but could be trying very hard without success.
There is no point at all in bringing in a player just to swell the numbers if he is not the right player in the managers' opinion.

Let's hope that in the event of us having to go with Lund that he steps up to the plate and surprises a few people with consistent and good performances.
I agree with others, that i wouldn't want us to start with Luke Mc at RB.

Coppinger has played well there when he's had to.

You'd think if we were going to sign someone before Saturday It would be today.

I'm not entirely convinced Lund is ready.

I don't get it, whilst I agree Lund is probably not ready, I can't see the point in taking one of your most creative and attacking players and sticking him at RB, he'll do a limited job there no doubt, as would Lund. All you've done there is weaken the attacking options without gaining anything on the defensive side, stick with Lund if no one comes in, at least he's played there on a regular basis

he played there at burnley had a fantasti game and it was never a pen what was given against him, as said by some one a fullback neads to get forward whip some crosses can't copps do that and I cant think of anyone better to link up play with our midfield so yes I'd go with him till we get a new rb

We might have to go with a 3-5-2 formation to protect the Right Back position until we can get an experienced Right Back in.

Copps gave a stonewaller away against Forest in he experiment season that was given as just outside the box. He pulls off some great tackles from his wide right position  but as full back retreating into his on box????
Keep him wide right and leave defending to someone who knows what they are doing.
Having said that with all the new recruits this season his place could well be under threat, I fully expect to see PD play ALL his new signings by at least the 2nd or 3rd game which puts a threat on all the established players JMHO

We have no where near the pace at the back to play that formation

Raven, you might be right. I was thinking of a formation that would stop an opponent exploiting our back-line especially in the right back position. 5 across midfield will usually give us a numerical advantage and stop the opposition getting anywhere near our goal, and give us more position and therefore more chances to push forward. I don't suggest this for every game, but until we get an experienced RB to the club.

3-4-3 is one to consider.

                                  Stuckmann

                     McCullough   MacKenzie  Butler

                                        Keegan

                     Coppinger                    Taylor-Sinclair

                                        Wellens

                       N'Guessen                  Forrester

                                      Williams

Does anyone know Williams preferred partnership up front?
Does he like to play off a big target man, someone with a bit of pace or upfront on his own?

I think Williams would benefit from 'on the deck' football. Ultimately I could see him up there with Forrester and/or Chaplow working with him. He's not a battering ram, so it's no good firing aimless balls in his general direction.
