He is a defender and should cover when others are out of position
He was soundly beaten for pace and that lead directly to the goal
It won't be the last time

The goal wasn't his fault, you can't just vacate your position to cover others mistakes.
The goalkeeper should've done a bit better with that effort

Jones has been decent all pre-season and first two games. Remember, most of us (including myself) thought he was crocked for good last season.

And that's why you'd never make a manager. Jones having to cover at right back (due to position not properly filled) when his strength is doing what he did all night, win headers against anything coming through to their 'big men' & marshalling the defence. He's not there for his pace pi**ock.
