Line up for Fleetwood?
« on August 28, 2015, 06:45:01 pm by MrWoodySir »
Really not sure, I'm interested to see. This is obviously dependent on whether we sign a defender...

Stuckmann
--------------
Lund
Butler
MacKenzie
Taylor-Sinclair
---------------
Coppinger
Wellens
Middleton
Stewart
------------
Main
Williams

Unsure on whether it'll be Lund or Evina at right back. Could also be Chaplow instead of Middleton. Really hope we play with two up top.

I think Chaplow will start, as a senior pro.  Shame for Middleton but the young lad could start if we go 451.

I can't see Evina playing RB.  I'd rather play 2 up front to support Williams.  Your 11 is virtually spot on IMHO, but we don't have too many options either!

I agree, we ought to play a system that allows us to attack and press upfield.  Plus, whatever you may think of Main so far, his presence may worry the defenders so that Williams has more freedom.

As much as there is too much experience in midfield, with the lack of options the team pretty much picks itself.

                                               Stuckmann

                                           McKenzie    Butler

                                     Lund                         Taylor-Sinclair

                                                 Wellens

                                    Coppinger                  Stewart

                                                   Chaplow

                                          Williams         Main

subs.Mandeville, Middleton, Evina, Whitehouse, Carberry, Jones(if fit) or whoever is, Marosi

Things sometimes happen for a reason, and give somebody else an opportunity in life, this could lead to Lund becoming our regular right back.
I would have Wellens as the holding midfielder, linking play from further back, and Chaplow giving us something different just behind the forwards, Stewart really has to start the game.
If i am remembering right, Fleetwood play 3-5-2, so to catch them out mix between playing a short passing game in a 4-4-2, to playing it quicker to the forwards forming into a 4-3-3, so making it three against three in the middle.

It should be a good footballing game, they have good ball players so do we, i have a feeling one bit of ugliness will win the game, just an ordinary long ball straight onto a forwards head, or a scrappy scrambled goal.
Tight game but i can see at worst a draw, and maybe a narrow win for us.

Think the team above will be pretty much the one that lines up but Evina in for Stewart, think Stewart will get about half hour game time in second half. It won't be a good footballing game, Fleetwood may play good stuff but we will pass it about until we get to the half way line and then run out of ideas and just boot it.

This weeks team is pretty much the same whichever one of us picks it, the options are so few.

The youth team full-back from last season? He's now plying his trade in Sweden. Plays for the same team as Jordan Binns.

Joe Pugh has been given a squad number, which suggests he could be on the bench today or Tuesday.

Joe Pugh is playing for the Youth team but Michael Carberry and Jordan Linley are not. Suggests they may be in the first team squad.

Linley's a midfielder right?

Excuse my ignorance but what position does Pugh play in?

A striker, though he was a defender earlier in his career. He came from Hull City last season although he's a Donny lad. He's played for Wales at junior level.

Daral Pugh is his dad. Daral was at Hull but has now replaced Redfearn as head of the Academy at Leeds.
