Surely Jones would? If he got the job everyone would get behind him.

The fans would support anyone who got us back to winning ways. That's all Donny folk have ever wanted...................results.
Get us winning and up towards the top of the table and the gates will increase. It's that simple.

I think Glynn Snodin, Redfearn or even Jones would be accepted. Even Derry could be if he set out to show he'd learned from Notts County.

Most of the others mentioned would fall into either category. However Evans and Laws would both be very divisive appointments and would be handicapped from the outset.

Absolutely spot on. Take sentiment out of it. Progress and results on the field.

So it is as simple as that is it.
You have just got to laugh.

The question is which candidate would unite the fans.
No one can know in advance which candidate will win games and get us up the table can they?

All of the names mentioned on here have had people saying this week that they wouldnt want them in charge.

Let's hope the board don't take too much notice of the sentimental crap some people post on here.

There is always going to be a risk with whoever they choose but for me we want a manager who has a track record of being a success, someone who can sort the dross out we currently have.
We don't want someone who is a nice likeable chap. We need a bas**rd who is going to kick the players arses and get them fighting for wins.
If he gets us winning again and into the top end of the league he will do for me whoever he is.

He has had 3 games so far and absolutely nothing has changed.
Still the same like for like substitutions. Nothing different to try and change the way we are playing.
No thanks.

I like Rob Jones but I don't think he is the man to take us forward, I would be happy with him in a coaching setup but not as the number 1.

I think N'Guessan will feel hard done by he did well against Oldham and didn't even get on pitch against Sheff Utd I would have started him.

He would have more of an impact than Forrester for starters.

If we got Guardiola some people on here would still moan!

If the job was about having a good personality and likeable factor so every one was happy then great. We should have kept PD.

We need a manager who can get the best out of the players we have and get the team winning. If said manager is strict with his players to do that then so be it. If said manager is good at his job with a proven track record then he should be the man.
But whoever gets the job, the list might be getting shorter now, Rotherhams job up for grabs they must be backed by the board to change the squad if required.

So this forum is irrelevant people can say what they want but winning on the pitch will gain support and could increase the crowd.

I do think uniting the fans is important as that creates the spirit of the club. However I tend to agree with those that highlight that we'll never please everyone. I struggle to see why anyone in our fanbase would object to someone like McDermott or Snodin, but I don't doubt that some will have a reason. Others were just born to complain.

It's interesting to note the real sense of antithapy towards Steve Evans based on his character rather than his ability to get results. It's clear that lots of people have strong principles on the matter which I find admirable to an extent. That was less evident when people were demanding the sacking of a thoroughly decent bloke that acted with every ounce of integrity that Evans has proved to be lacking. It's an interesting paradox and proof in itself of the difficulty to please everyone.

Who exactly " sits in " on the selection process at our club, who do they go to for advice ,checking cv's etc.
If as most of our fans seem to think that our owners ,DW and TB do not know much about football ,who then can sort out the wheat from the chaff

Re Steve Evans. I do believe in giving most people a second chance. If, for example, Malky MacKay was to get the job, I'd be prepared to see if he had learned from the stupid things he did at Cardiff.

Evans is a different matter. He should have been banned from football management for life for what he did at Boston. The fact that he remains an obnoxious Kitson merely reinforces my view of him.
