Will there be a player coming in the opposite direction?

I don't wish to seem rude, but I'm not sure Rangers would have anyone who would improve us.

I'm interested that the report suggests it will be a free transfer. I wonder if the situation is a bit like that with Duffy and Rangers will be paying Brentford some of the money we owe them?

Kilmarnock was where he played for his dad, yes. He's currently at Rangers though.

I think he has moved on from Rangers.

Maybe you should tell them that... http://rangers.co.uk/talent/dean-shiels/

We are a regular supplier of folk to the Scottish leagues these days - I make that Martin Woods, Gary Woods, Dean Shiels, Mustapha Dumbuya and now Forrester that are playing north of the border.

What a doomed relationship with Forrester. Out injured for virtually his entire first season. Used sparingly by Dickov then abandoned by Ferguson.

Paul Heffernan too.Richard offiong had his best spell at Accies after us,although he's at Durham now.

Wabara was at Rangers Pre Season but Warburton soon sent him back South .
Luckily for us he stopped off at Barnsley .

Many on the dingles forum want rid of Wabara, Steven Bywater is on trial there as well.

Rangers considered Wabara not good enough for them...that's gotta hurt as a player, hasn't it??!?

And here was me thinking I'd read a few weeks ago from some Barnsley fans, gloating about the diamond they had stolen from the blind men of Doncaster. Nah, obviously they've realised the truth...though are strangely silent on the matter now.

If Forrester doesn't go to Rangers, might he head South to a Lg 1 team in or near the London area? He was at Brentford before joining us.

That is hilarious. Absolutely terrible goalkeeper. I can't wait to see this.

Don't think he was terrible. Would put him in same box as the Jed Steer lad and Carl Ikeme. Short-term fixes that were unconvincing. Buying a reliable and unspectacular keeper should always be first priority. Bizarre we went through entire season last year without a permanent goalie.

Paul Quinn and Meite were also there last year (Scottish Prem with Ross County I think), and according to Google PQ has now joined Aberdeen almost Table toppers in SPL and AM still at Ross County

No because he's on high wages and he's either been injured , suspended or doesn't seem to have the right attitude or application to be in DF' s plans.

Yes, it's a shame we didn't see the best of him often enough. The best all round that he moves on. A player in the prime of life should be playing football.

Good luck to him!

HF destroyed Coventry in last season's Boxing Day fixture - that is the talent that we rarely got to see.

He will go to Rangers then sign for a club down here again for about £3m.

I still think Forrester has the ability to be in our squad but for some reason DF has decided hes not got a future here. I wonder if at some point Forrester has refused to sign a contract extension and pi**ed Fergie off?

That's why I thought he had moved from Rangers. It seems it is a different Dean Shiels.

'Our' Dean Shiels played for Rangers against Hibs yesterday, it's a different one.

Confusingly in 2002 we had Dene Shields on loan from Sunderland.

If they weren't playing a decade apart you would have sworn that the latter was a name rip-off like on crap no licence football video games.

Fulham away when he came on at half time was his best performance for us, absolutely destroyed them on his own, and if it wasn't for theo shit pen he would've got us on level terms from 2 down

If he's going on a free then I hope we have a sell-on clause.

I liked Forrester. As possibly the best player we had at the start of the season he was a major reason why I decided to continue my investment in buying a season ticket.
