Copps

Cant help but notice the lack of stick heading his way recently... And too right! What a turn around from him. The move centrally seems to have enhanced his game, with the lack of pace to beat a man out wide nowadays from him, DF seems to have found a position where he's suited. Credit to both of them for the change. He's been a far more consistent performer and its good to see him continuing to make appearances. Here's to 500!

His performances have improved this season since he's moved more central he still needs to be quicker. Especially at Coventry and Cambridge he has lost the ball in dangerous positions because he's been put under pressure quickly and has either turned into trouble or taken too long on the ball. Hopefully the more he plays in that role the more he adapts and that improves but his performances have been a lot better.

There were quite a few people on here writing Copps off at the start of this season saying things like "his legs have gone" and "nothing to offer anymore" and even a ridiculous comment that he was only being selected until he got past the appearance record and then he would be out.
I remember arguing against the theory that he was over the hill and suggested that it would be interesting to see if the new manager would continue to select him.
It seems that DF reckons Copps is still good enough to be one of his first team regulars.

The thing is Copps has never been known for his pace
It was his touch and giving the ball away that was the problem
Glad he's back on track though legend
