Have you got Amazon Prime? If so they let you borrow a book for free every month from the kindle owners lending library, and you also get to download a free book every month from a choice of 6. Depends what you're into really, I read the Wayward Pines trilogy using the library, there's also a trilogy where the first book is called Brilliance that's pretty good. As for paying for books, maybe try the Millennium trilogy (Girl With The Dragon Tattoo etc), a bit twisted but a good read. I really like the Ben Hope series by Scott Mariani too, need to read them in order though.

GWTDT tickles my fancy, I must admit. Thanks again
I've got thousands stored on my PC. Just let me know what you want.
Amazon Prime is 79 quid a year but in my opinion it's worth it. You get Amazon Prime Video which is similar to Netflix, they've just started doing a music service that has loads of albums available, you get the Kindle books each month as mentioned above and you also get next day delivery on stuff you buy on Amazon. Only works out at £6.60 a month. I hasten to add I do not work for Amazon!!I've also got loads of books on a USB stick my brother gave me but I read a fair amount and doesn't really bother me paying for books. Although it does annoy me that some Kindle books are more expensive than an actual book!
1984 always worth a read

I knew you'd come to L J's rescue once again, just knew it...
As for more recommendations, I like Da Vinci Code style books, so if you're into that sort of stuff (or shite, as some might say!) anything by Dan Brown, Steve Berry, Andy McDermott, Will Adams. I also really liked The Hunger Games even though they are meant to be books for kids.
It depends which genre you enjoy. Bernard Cornwell, Conn Iggulden are great for historical fiction as is CJ Sampson. John Connelley if you like crime with a supernatural twist.

Nowt to do with Mr. Hilter but I would thoroughly recommend The Count of Monte Cristo to anyone. In hard copy it can look a bit daunting as it's a big old book but on an e-reader (I first read it on my iPhone!) you don't really notice the size and soon get right into it. A brilliant read, and if you do give it a go, stick with it through the incarceration period, it gets better from then on!
