I will look back on that - but tbh - did not understand most of what was going on with that one

Anyway the Tommytoes foxed me as well - although after yesterdays "action" you should could have changed it to "tommytoes is comatose" . I was almost there and would have had a sleep but was frightened of hypothermia !

Been in touch with Alan "Lover" Roome as well - he is over in Sarf Africa

EDIT : Looked back at that Thread

Jesus!
Donnywolf doesn't get this thread.
And that coming from someone who invented the proverb:
'People who live in grass houses shouldn't stow thrones'
Next: Rockware Glass

I remember thinking that came from someone who knew me - and as you say the clues were there for sure !

Roomy eh? Top bloke and his dad of Golden Rivet fame. Pewter pewter Pah Pah.
Hope Al's OK. Give him my regards if you speak to him again.
Haven't seen or heard from John Kelly for years. Last saw him at a Tull concert about 10 years ago.

Knights win again, this time at London Scottish 26-20
Five points behind Bristol. Beat them on March 27 and you never know...

They are guaranteed to be in the Play Offs now !

They could beat Bristol (live on Sky) on the 27th but whether they finish Top or Fourth is not that critical I don't think because the Play offs decide who gets promotion !

Then Knights would have the little matter that London Welsh had in that the big boys and their rules that Knights criteria are not suitable for the Premiership !  Criteria is a fully professional squad (Knights OK) and a Ground capacity of 10,000 (Knights holds 5 to 6000). Playing at the KMS would not necessarily solve their problem as they would probably be refused as they would not be the "prime owners" or whatever they call it. I think only Bristol, Y Carnegie and Nottingham meet the criteria

Might be academic of course but like Footy Play offs its Top v Fourth and Second (looks like being Knights) v Third

Bristol surely don't meet the criteria? Or am I out of date? I thought they play at Ashton Gate. I doubt very much they are the prime owners of that there little place.

Primacy of tenure is the phrase you are looking for Bob. I am not quite sure what it means, but it certainly doesnt mean you need to own the ground, London Irish play at the Madeski which they dont own.

Primacy of tenure? That's a handy phrase if ever I heard one! Perfect for the RFU. It can mean whatever they want it to mean can't it? Bristol won't have first choice of dates. They don't own the place. But I imagine they could claim they are the first tenant.. But then, tenure and tenant are very different things. Whatever, it has a hint of being a very convenient phrase for the RFU...

It's otherwise known as "maintaining the status quo" or "an old boys' club." I bet the founders of the Premier League wished they'd thought of something similar to keep out upstarts like Blackpool and Bournemouth.

As that bloke used to BELLOW on Bullseye .... IN ONE !!!

Eloquently put there TRB - Bristol are one of the big boys that the Prem Clubs want back in the top flight before they pull up the Drawbridge

Your post needed no further comment so sorry I don't know why I could not help myself (again)

I thought I read something about that a while ago that they actually wanted it to be a closed shop, but the Football League and the FA would never allow it - or something along these lines.

Not sure that the FL would've been able to stop them though if they wanted to set up their own competition, a little like the PDC.

Actually Bristol Rugby are owned by the same guy (Steve Lansdowne) who owns Bristol City - so yes they do own Ashton Gate.

Is it not a club Doncaster type arrangement?

Knights beaten in B&I Cup (fairly easily) by Cornish Pirates - after fielding a much changed Team

Maybe League and Playoffs are the priority - and why not ?

Dons use Castle Park and Knights use Keepmoat if they were to go up?
